^ Yes your barren ice fields, small army, lack of major businesses (that weren't created in the US), highly socialistic government (in comparison to the US), failing socialized health care system, and absurdly ridiculous taxes are extreeeemely appealing to us. Which makes it all the more shocking that we haven't nuked Canada to kingdom-come yet and then claimed it as our own.

Check out this site too. This is a blog made by Iraqi citizens. They readily admit it is not perfect over there but they often talk about the many GOOD things that are occuring. Things that never occurred before. Things major media conglomerates like the extremely liberal BBC would never want you to see.

^ There is some great irony in your photo considering that anyone marching in protest in the streets of Iraq during the Saddam regime would have been brutally slaughtered by the Iraqi National Army. They also lived for thirty years under a constitution that was not voted on by the Iraqi people. As soon as the insurgents are minimalized they will have their day to speak their voice and create a government of their choice. Hopefully that will occur this January as scheduled (looking doubtful at the moment).

yes 2 cities were nuked in WW2, but everyone one agrees that many more lives were saved by doing that rather than invading Japan. after that we did rebuild Japan, yes

For the past 3 or so years, there have been more political arguments on NS than any site on the planet, people eventually get sick of it and stop fighting, then a new wave of newbies comes in and takes over. Fucking everything up all over again.

Wow. I was under the impression that Graves wasn't a complete idiot, but unless this was a joke (I hope and pray that it was), it appears that I was way off with that assessment... please tell me this is a joke. Barren ice fields? Have you ever been to Canada? Now, without direct ties to the US (Say, if the border was shut completely), Canada would doubtless suffer greatly. However, so would the US. Half of California's power comes from BC, and New York's power depends heavily on Ontario. Not to mention the freshwater sources that flow from north of the 49th parallel... I would NOT want to see the Canucks decide to put up any barriers. Which is one reason why that softwood lumber money needs to be repaid. We don't need anymore Caroline Parrishes popping up in the Canadian houses of parliament... a national anti-american voting coalition in the house, given the minority government, does not bode well for Canada-US trade, and that hurts both nations. Don't look at this from such a narrow perspective. Canada consumes more per person than the US, and the US is their major trading partner. Can the US survive without Canada? Yes. Can Canada survive without the US? Yes. Would that situation help either country? Big, massive no.

As for Nuking the north and annexing it... I'm assuming that that part at least was a joke. I hope the rest is, too, but that was just idiotic... as if world opinion of the US isn't low enough.

I cant speak for him but just as the person who claimed that Canda owns the US clearly a joke im sure graves was using a hint of sarcasm!!




Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

Thank you Smokin for detecting the sarcasm. However I hate the notion that comes from many Canadians on this site that Canada is soooo much better than the US. I was born in the States and wouldn't change that for a second. However, my mother's entire family was born in Canada before moving here. When people ask my heritage I usually respond by saying 50% American, 50% Canadian.

However, I truly believe that Canada's socialized healthcare system blows.

And Jaross next time you want to trash me, I would reccommend you find another way besides saying that I was stating the 'facts.' Who's the idiot now?

^No, don't bother, they're more or less interchangeable. And canada's socialized health care system DOES blow. And I LIVE here. It's obviously totally screwed up right now... and I doubt things will improve without a Lib majority. They just can't accomplish anything, even though fixing health care is by far their #1 priority.

yes gravis, what you said about my pic is true, however, i and aparently the people in that picture, do not beleve that the us government will let them make up their own goverment. we will enforce 'democracy' on them and the reason i use '' is becuase enforcing somthing on the people does not go along with the defionation of democracy. for instance, that is why you can have a scocialist democracy...

I find it strange that none of the Iraqi's interviewed in that article really blamed the US for the position they're in right now. Of course they mentioned the US but didn't say it America's fault that they had to leave their houses.
