Skis got swapped

Alright so on closing day at Steamboat about a week and a half ago, my Line Stepups with crappy marker rental bindings got taken, but I think it might've been an accident. On the same ski rack where mine were, I found a pair of pretty much identical skis, but had slightly different bindings, and since pretty much everyone there was drunk, I could totally see someone mistaking mine for theirs and taking mine home with them. I have the other person's skis with me at my house, and I've put ads in the paper, filed a police report, etc., but I'm not having any luck. Anyone have any good ideas on how I could try to get my skis back? I would just accept the swap because they are so similar, but this other person's are in crap shape compared to mine. Thanks! you got your skis jacked and jacked someone's skis in the off chance they were switched by accident. clutch.

You were drunk and remounted your skis with some new bindings and also ruined them.

well they are line step-ups, best thing to do would be to stop wasting your time and just sell them to buy some real skis.

this same thing happened to my dad at Stratton but the guy came back like 10 minutes later realized he took the wrong but similar looking skis

Wait how do you know you didn't take some randoms skis? What if yours just got stolen by someone who wasn't skiing and you stole someone elses...

I stayed until long after the concert ended and most of the people left, and those skis were the only ones left on the same rack mine were on. I think I made the right choice, plus if the person who's skis I took didn't in fact take mine, they probably would've made some sort of effort to find them, such as putting an ad in the newspaper, or contacting the mountain's lost and found, neither of which they have done yet, because I have been regularly checking both.
