I basically started 6-0 on EVERY!!! one of them and ended 6-3 on every one :D
Sucked so hard back then ^^ Won a lot of minor stuff though (and lots of finals in ptqs). + I was in the season final of a mtgo tournament once (the ones where you have to get 15 qualifier points to play in this big, gp like tournament with 600 players), got top 8 there, but didnt really win that much :P
Its just a game. I mean playing magic or playing computer games is really not that much of a difference. And I guess almost everyone plays computer games or watches tv. I mean yeah, you might meet some nerdy figures around, maybe even more than usual, but its still just a game.
Played for years, have tons of cards. Learned in like 98 from my cousins. I tryed to get back into it. Walked into my local comic book shop with a few of my old decks, and did pretty well. I got turned off because everytime I would win a game just guys would get so pissed off. ( Came in with voleurz gear, tall tee,etc.... very non nerd looking).
I just really got over being judged for just the way I looked, as compared to how I played.
I mean I've never played so I can't really speak from experience. I'm sure there is some strategy involved it just seems a little nerdy to me.
I don't buy into the "skiing is gangster as fuck" thing but its funny to think about kids trying to act hard as hell on the mountain on Saturday and sitting around playing magic the gathering on Sunday.
I guess I was just making fun of the contrast between gangsta skiing and magic more so.
I seem to relapse every couple of years for periods of time. Last year I fell off the wagon again and got my girlfriend into it. The couple that nerds out together stays together.
YO. I hadn't played Magic in about fifteen years. And then my friend was like, "Dude. I played Magic again the other day." And shit if I'm not back at it again. So good.
