also you should offer an normal smelling wax. i love the smell of fresh wax and idk how i would feel about it smelling like other things

Usually agree with this, but since I got a free bar of bluebird all temp wax, it's literally the best thing ever, not worth buying cause it's just so fucking expensive, but it smells so good.

Hate the smell of shitty butta wax, it's absolute crap too, but I just use it cause I got a bunch of free bars.

I was surprised at the range available for how often you wax. I thought me waxing mine every 5 days was kinda on the low end frequency wise....

i personally know people that wax every weekend. i do normally around 4 days on a wax. i have a friend that hasnt waxed his skis ever. it depends on the person and how much effort they are willing to put into taking care of their gear

Just wanted to say thanks for taking the survey to everyone that has participated and for all the product suggestions.

To those who are in love with the pure natural wax smell, you will be interested in our new 13/14 line. New products will be various in hot and cold temp specific waxes a long with a sustainable line.

However, we also do not pre-make our products, so email us before ordering and we could certainly make an odorless and/or colorless product.

Our sustainable line is NOT like other brands. We are not doing this for increased profits by using soy bean wax and labeling it as sustainable. Our mission (may sound lame and hippie like) is to create an option for all of our customers who have all different types of wax preferences, but in hope to show our customers that sustainable wax is possible to complete side by side with oil based waxes. Our goal is actually to create less of an impact with emissions created and more importantly less impact on water sheds that are revolved around mountains. Our sustainable wax will be manufactured in a 0 waste production system with biodegradable ingredients. We have found no difference (as of now) from our regular paraffin waxes in the quality and durability to the sustainable waxes. We still need to do extensive testing on our summer grade wax that we will be testing at Mt. Hood this summer.

We believe our wax speaks for itself and with OUR decreased profit margins; we give you more wax for cheaper than all of our other competitors (that we have found) which are making a ridiculous amount of profit.

225 grams (1/2 lb. or 8 ounces)  = $10.95 for our bulk brick

The wax industry has been overrun by high prices that do not reflect the cost of manufacturing these products.

You probably shouldn't be smelling your wax.

That being said I would love if someone would create a wax that isn't a health hazard to breathe in.

obviously huffing wax fumes isnt great, however, its inevitable when you are waxing. and the smell of wax (as most skiers will agree) is awesome when you are doing, as well as the somewhat lingering smell in the room afterwards

Flouro waxes smell awful, like gasoline, or some other strong chemical. Hydrocarbon waxes don't really smell much, not very different from candle wax.

Even though you're not actively "huffng" the wax fumes, if you are in a non well ventilated area like a garage or basement you are highly encouraged to wear a respirator. "five minutes after waxing began, hydrocarbon wax vapor concentration in the waxroom exceeded the Occupational Safety and Health Act limit. (OSHA is the US agency that monitors workplace safety). In cases where the OSHA limit is exceeded, use of a respirator is mandated." -Source

Not that anyone actually follows these guidelines (I'm too lazy most of the time unless it's flouro wax although I will open a window). I think a lot of people aren't aware of the potential health hazards when waxing.

Well I use hydrocarbons. And the only place I have to wax is in the back of an unfinished room in my house with a 2x1 window about 15' away where my bench is, and no chance in hell I'm gonna wear a respirator for that. If you doing it in small quantities, it's not that bad

Wax in general is bad to inhale, we definitely suggest when you wax do it in your garage with the garage door open to air the room out.

 However you also want to make sure when you are waxing that you are not burning the wax. Make sure the iron is set at a temperature where the wax does not smoke, you want a smooth slow drip onto your skis and you can minimize the impact of the wax.

To those that like unscented wax we are going to be opening a line for next season with an unscented/color option. For those that love scents we will be keeping our original scents and possibly adding one or two more. You'll just have to wait and see!

If you are riding Mt.Hood this spring/summer we are looking for a group of TESTERS to critique a summer wax we have designed to rip through the specific conditions of summer crud on Mt.Hood. Designed to last all day and keep you going strong on the salted/slushy crud we know and love over summer.
