What does NS predict for the finals?

I think Clippers and Oklahoma will battle it out for the West. And Heat and Knicks for the East.

i think memphis is the only team in the west that can give the heat any trouble now that okc is out. san antonio could if they played perfectly but theyre aging and idk how they would fair with the quickness of the heat.

They are a garbage team without rose but they still played good this series... But overall without a powerhouse player like Rose they stood no chance on beating the Heat.

Also for the record the Heat kinda steamrolled through the Bulls, I don't think any team will pose a threat to them this postseason... Guess we will find out.

If they dont turn the ball over, they limit those fast break points. And when San Antonio is on, they dont turn over much.

But I think its pretty unlikely San Antonio is knocking off Memphis, should be a really fun finals. Memphis has the defense to make life hard for the Heat, especially inside, and you dont really want to rely on your perimeter shooting for a whole series. And I think the only man on the Heat with a hope of stopping Randolph in that low post is LeBron, but if hes down under the basket, you open up the floor for the rest of the team, and Gasol shoots surprisingly well for a big man. All around Im excited for the series.


Really as long as D Wade doesnt get away with too much bitching, whining, and flopping, ill be pretty happy. LeBron has matured immensely these past few years. D Wade is still a massive d bag, and quite honestly a pretty dirty player at times.

realistically, no one can beat the heat in a 7 game series. Lebron, bosh, wade, birdman, chalmers, AND ray allen? not underestimating the pacers or grizzilies, but the heat are getting that second title this year whether you like them or not.

All of them except LeBron can be streakey, and all can be pretty much shut down, with the right defense. And LeBron cannot win a Finals by himself, he proved that in Cleveland. Not saying theres no chance the Heat win it again, I think that is likely, but not guaranteed by any means. People get hurt, people end up in slumps, thats why we play the games.

I just cannot comprehend the decision to take Roy Hibbert out of the game. Why... The Pacers put their smaller lineup out and Lebron just drives in on them twice in a row. Awful decision by Frank Vogel.

meh, miami did fight back and make shots. but indiana was up 3 and the heat got like 3 offensive rebounds, then bosh put it back in and got fouled on the 3rd shot of the possession. if indiana had rebounded id guess that game be over...miami definitely didnt deserve it, but since lebron is a complete boss they won...

Jesus be blinded by your hate some more... The pacers make a miracle 3 pointer to force OT, which didn't "deserve" to go in btw seeing as how it was a complete meltdown of a play. Not to mention Ray Allen somehow misses a FT after horrible defense by the pacers to let him have the ball. Someone who has a 93% FT shouldn't miss right there, and if that goes in well it is a 4 point game.

Then lastly the foul on the 3 pointer that gave them 3 FT's which okay was a foul but I can't believe they would call it on a shot like that... Regardless again on that play another miracle that they got the shot off after another meltdown of a play.

I think both teams played amazing and it was a very fair game... Saying Miami didn't deserve it is quite childish with a game that close and was back and forth from the start. If the Pacers would of won that game I would be completely okay with that loss, it was well played by both teams.

lebron just barely avoided reverting back to his old self and choking in crunch time. it felt like watching a replay seeing him drive with his head down and kick it out at the last second but I don't see anyone stopping him now

Their coach fucked up and though the heat were going to settle for a range jumper. In which case there would be no need for hibbert and the opted for a guy who could guard a perimeter shot better. But I have no idea why he didn't think 2.2 seconds wasn't enough time to get a good drive to the hoop but he clearly over thought the play... His only goal should of been to stop lebron from driving and force him to either take a fadeaway shot or make him pass it out. But he instead thought too far ahead and tried to prevent that outside shot instead of focusing on stopping the drive to the hoop.

Even if hibbert was in the game I don't think it would of made much of a difference... The fault of the blame goes to the guy who guarded LBJ. Once LBJ was passed him even if hibbert was there LBJ was going to be able to use the glass for a high percentage shot. Only difference was if hibbert wast here it wouldn't of been a 100% go ahead layup and instead a 60-70% accurate shot.

Fault lies with their coach because I am pretty sure he stressed the fact so much that the heat were going to settle with a jumper that the guy on LBJ was so convinced LBJ would catch turn and shoot that he settled for a defensive positon that would be best against a jump shot and completely gave LBJ a wide open lane.

But it sounds like his concern was Bosh getting open out on the floor. Id way rather have Hibbert to help in the paint, and give Bosh the jumper than risk Lebron, or anyone, able to come in basically untouched like that.

But agreed. It was poor defense on Lebron too, he claims he was worried about Ray in the corner, which I get, but still...


Oh well, Indy just needs to win the next one and the series is tied.

Quite frankly theres just not enough interesting discussion in them. Too many "go my team" comments, very little interest in the sport beyond rooting for the home team. Newschoolers has many great things, good sports discussion isnt one of them, i turn to other forums for that.

I'm pretty bummed that the pacers didnt win. They played like shit game 7, bosh and wade blew it hard and lebron just scored 30+ carrying the team, as usual. I think both eastern teams would have (will) stomp out the spurs tho, I was hoping it wouldn't be the heat.

I don't hate the heat at all, lebron is by far one of the most entertaining basketball players to watch. What i'm so phased about is miami played like SHIT this series. Its not the big 3 anymore, its the big 1 and 9 guys that each score 8 points. Their team has no depth and lebron is the only reason they have any success.

I hope wade and bosh step it up and at least put up 15-20+ each so lebron doesn't have to quit in 3 years from back problems, cause he's carryied that team to the championship.

LeBron is phenomenal, no doubt, but that alone isnt a reason to not hate the Heat, IMO.

He is easily the most physically gifted player the NBA has ever seen, yet he flops like he weights 190. And receives more favoritism than anyone in NBA history from the refs. He played 250 consecutive minutes of the regular season without a foul called against him. 250 MINUTES!!! You could be standing on the side of the court for 250 minutes and youd have managed to commit a foul at some point.

Couple that with D Wade, who in his own mind has never committed a foul, and somehow manages to flop on every play, not to mention slide in unchecked, unfined cheap shots consistently (see his blow to the back of the head game 2 of this series amongst others).

Birdman, who is literally a technical foul on the eyes, and a blatantly dirty player.

Shane Battier, who used to be quite likeable, but who the Heat have transformed into another acting machine, and another dude who takes little cheap shots, then is shocked at the consequences.

Quite honestly, the most likeable players on that team are Ray Allen and Chris Bosh, though its sad to see how much Bosh gets pushed around in the paint.


I respect LeBrons talent immensely, and think that he has matured greatly since "the decision", but that doesnt change that the Heat are a perfect example of everything that is wrong with the NBA in terms of superstar favoritism, and blatantly imbalanced refereeing. Not to mention leading the way in the complete wussification of basketball as more and more acting gets rewarded, instead of good hard play.

These may be valid points but most people I know(and I think in general) hate the heat because the heat either beat their team or they are just jumping on the bandwagon of hate.

I'll take the heat in 6. I cannot imagine the spurs creating as much match up problems as the pacers( granted the spurs are a much better team than the pacers) and that will allow wade,bosh and the shooters to play a bigger role.

TBH most of the things you listed were pure opinion. Yes, the acting/flopping is bad, but saying the heat are the only organization to do so is a farce. If you really hate a team, it cant be because of your long winded paragraph about each player and why you hate them so much. You could do that about any team and make a case for why you should hate them. Like ^ said, most people hate the heat because they lost to them or because they like to hop on the wagon.



That being said, I thought the NBA was going to start calling guys out on flopping? what happened to that?

I guess thats a start, but like 10k is nothing if it helps them win a championship. It should be a foul or two shots or a turn over or fucking SOMETHING that happens in the game and could effect the outcome of the game. fining someone even 100k wouldn't stop them

yea my comments in here havent really helped mainly bc i dont know that much about nba. Unfortunately I could probably talk longer about Royals baseball just bc thats all they talk about on the radio here

anyway, people don't just hate the Heat bc they lost or they're bandwagoners, Thats just a bullshit 'trying too hard to be the objective sports fan' argument. I dont even have a team. People hate them because of Lebron and Wade's personalities not because of their athletic abilities. People hate that the best basketball player of this generation is so unlikable, the exact opposite of Jordan.

Lebron had to create his own all star team to win a title. Everything he does or says feels like its either for the cameras or was orchestrated by someone a lot smarter than him. He's constantly acting. Also, he's fucking dumb, like really dumb. He uses words he doesn't understand, repeats himself unnecessarily, and uses bunch of dumb phrases. Let me calculate my thoughts here...

People don't like Wade bc he's fake. He's just as ghetto as anyone else in the NBA but he has a baby face and wears his religion on his sleeve so he get a pass. But in reality none of the evidence points to him actually living up to any of it. Beyond that he's one of the dirtiest players in the league and is the type of guy who needs a wheelchair for a shoulder injury.

The problem is those flop calls arent made on the fly, the fines come from video review.



And a large portion of my paragraph wasnt opinion, its fact. Lebron played 250 minutes without a fall called on him. That is absolute insanity.

Disagree with this completely...

With the exception of like Steve Nash, please point me at some basketball personalities that you would consider more likable? Like you say he is dumb and shit, but honestly compared to other NBA players I would say LBJ is quite smart. Most of these guys didn't even go to college, or if they did it was for 1 year, and you know since high school they said fuck it because knew bball was their only ticket to making a living.

Btw Jordan was not a likable person at all in my opinion. I think he is an arrogant douche-bag who just happened to be extremely good at basketball.

durant, griffin, paul, duncan, dirk, pierce, nash, rose (aside from the injury thing), rondo, harden, and even bosh are all more likeable than lebron

No idea what poll you're referencing, but I do know LBJ has the highest jersey sales of any athlete, actually Mellow just passed him recently but who cares still in second. Funny how the the most "hated athlete" has the most jersey sales ehh?

LBJ isn't even on that list, he was last year, but he was a pompous douche after the decision not so much now...

you're not really staying on track, making sense, or even correctly differentiating facts vs opinions but somehow you've convinced yourself you're right.

He was #2 on that same list in 2011 and #6 on it last year. Do you think Jordan was ever on it?(because thats what we were talking about).
Better question; why do you think he isn't on it this year? I think its a combination of gaining fair weather fans by winning the title and playing for team USA (a team we all have to root for), hiring (better) image consultants/handlers to script his every move like I already mentioned, and the fact that new scandals pop up basically every month in sports creating new villains with them

All I am saying you are painting this picture that everyone in the world hates LBJ, and I can tell you that is def not true...

You act like all basketball players need to be a fucking mother terisa to be likable, which is a fucking childish and stupid way of picking favorites. Also I can assure you your beloved Jordan had his own faults, but back in the day the world was a lot less connected than it is now and any negative press was a lot more difficult to surface.

I pick my favorite athletes based on their ability to entertain and do things that I marvel at. If they also happen to be a good person then well so be it. But I love how you named 2 Boston trashbags (paul and rondo) to be more likable than LBJ. Boston players are horrible human beings in my eyes.

Tonight is the real competition for Heat though. Spurs will definitely keep it a tight game. Lebron needs to quit flopping though, and Birdman needs to make sure he doesn't get suspended from any games.
