I'm getting pretty sick of everyone's addiction to the internet and to smartphones. the other day i was sitting in class when the teacher stepped out of the room for a moment, and 27 of the 30 kids all took out their iphones immediately. i said to the class, "you guys realize that there are only 3 people NOT on their iphones right now?" a couple kids laughed nervously and the rest just kept staring at their phones. its pretty pathetic.

Thats a stupid statement. Alot of education is going towards the use of smart phones and computers in the classroom. My cousin just started grade nine at a public "smart school" which requires the use of technology in the classroom.

There is not one public school in this nation that requires students to use SMARTPHONES for their school work.

That was possibly the biggest claim I've ever seen someone pull out of their ass.

Never said the use of smartphones, learn to read, I said technology. Its not a claim out of my ass its a reality. Technology in schools is becoming ever more prevalent and in the next ten years I can almost guarantee that smart phones will be a staple in classrooms at all levels.

Also I dont live in the same nation as you.

Actually two of my classes require the use of iPhones. In my French class my teacher uses an app for quizzing us that is way more efficient. She only uses it though because she knows everyone already has an iPhone. And the entire 7th grade and a number of classes issue iPads to the students. Yes It could all be done the old fashion way. But it's so much easier and more efficient in most respects.

i've seen 5th graders use iPads to help them "learn", all they do is play games and go on youtube. I think people over emphasize the use of technology. A majority of it is pointless, and my guess is that the companies who stand to gain from the use of technology are benefiting
