Great info. But most if not all that info is referring to old photography lenses witch are great! But i was wondering if any one had any knowledge of old cinema lenses. Like old arris and what not. like supper 16mm lenses or old anamorphic lenses.
Cine Lenses cost a shit ton of money and are in super high demand right now. A set of Arri/Zeiss CP1 prime lenses will cost around 3-5k apiece. Correct me if I"m wrong, but I'm guessing not a ton of ski filmers are shooting with these. They're heavy, bulky, and expensive, and if you don't have an AC/Focus Puller, they're going to be a pain to work with because of the long focus swing. They're about equally sharp as Canon L glass. Unless you have a really good eye for chromatic aberration, you might as well save your money.
I've worked with the original Zeiss Superspeed MKI and II's, definitely a trip to use from an AC standpoint. I just did some Sony F5 tests with old lomo anamorphic, also crazy to play with. But one of my favorite lenses that i've worked with lately are the old Leica Summilux-R's. Really nice creamy image, probably run a bit cheaper than a set of CP.1's, depending on where you look.
