that oasis thread got me thinking, i wish i lived in like the late 80's/early 90's. so i could see kurt cobain and junk.

50's would suck. If you didn't conform, you were pretty much an out as to society. Basically if you weren't a white male, You had very slim chances of opportunity. 40's was war, 30's sucked ass, 20's were alright. I feel like people say the 60's and 70's because of the music. Getting drafted into nam would of sucked ass, personally.

omg. i personally would like to SEE dozens of various decades in the last 5000 years. egypt, rome, pre-columbian civilizations, anything. but i cant say enough how happy i am to live in this era and country, where war is just a word in the dictionary.

obviously there are still wars going on, but its relatively calm in contrast to both world wars.

and its kind of funny. i could have predicted which guys wanted to show how brave they are in the world wars, or which guys wanted to live in the 50s and also those of the 60s.

being on NS that long you know certain political and general attitudes of several members and you just know that that guy wants to live in the 50s because male caucasians ruled the world and everyone else was a 2nd tier person. then some chilled guys want to live during woodstock and i still cant find words for people who would actually want to go get fucked in the world wars. sure its nice to beat the nazis and one of the biggest feats the last century saw. but appreciate what your grandparents made possible, which is our life.

Either the '60s - '70s or today. Muscle cars and (arguably) the best generation of music vs modern technology while still being able to own muscle cars and listen to any music I want.

No, because when the economy is doing well overall life is better as a whole. There is a reason it was called the roaring twenties and the golden fifties. The twenties gave birth to the jazz age, the automobile, the american dream and reefer smokin. 50's gave us the idea of american dominance, the expansion of life to the suburbs, the concept of teen culture, and an enormous amount of oppurtunitys for people living in that time to pursue their dream being the only country involved not decimated by the war. Who the fuck are you to tell me what decade I would want to live in, or anyone else for that matter.

ya, i could do any time from 1800 on ward, minus the great depression. would have loved to fight in wwII, nam, and wouldnt mind the war on terror. Being a cow boy would have been awesome as shit, 60's and 70's would have been one big trip. The 90's and early 2000's were sick too. I can not really decide.

I'm gonna be the guy that points out the fact that we have the ability to live more than just one decade.

If I could, I would graduate highschool in the early to mid 60's, drop out of college in the late 60's and have an awesome time in the late 60's into the mid to late 70's, skip the 80's and early 90's, find myself as a skier in the mid 90's just before the park scene came to be and live right on through until now... without loosing my ability to preform at my physical peak till I grow tired and maybe do a bit more time travel - back to the days when we were surveying the PNW/BC, that would have been such a boss job. So I guess the really early 1800's, maybe 1790's.

I would have been a great Mod culture chick. I would have rocked thy high white leather boots so hard.

Going any further back than that, I'd be worried that I would have been born a poor beggar girl and ended up in a sweatshop or as a prostitute.

Pretty jealous of my dad, he was born in 63 so he was early 20's in the middle of 80's skiing. That would be pretty cool, IMO. Neon clothes, big skiing glasses, blasting power ballads and everyone wanted to have a radical time. He was an assistant gm at a resort at the time, so he would have had a great time.
