Critique my Motion Video (no skiing)

Hey guys! So... I made this little piece for a school project. I've been using cinema 4d for about 3 weeks now and just looking to share and get some thoughts. I'm by all means still a beginner at this stuff but I think I achieved my goal and got my hands dirty.

Funny, I just finished finished Motion Design 1  foundations at VFS. As for the video, the timing was awesome! I'm just getting into some mograph stuff aswell and this doesn't fall short much of what I've seen. Did you just model in Cinema 4d and bring it into after effects?

Yeah buddy! NS at VFS! I did the foundations program last year, hope your liking it.

and the whole second half was done entirely in c4d, just cc in ae.

I've learned AE decently well, but it seems like a combination of 3d and after effects could create some dope results that aren't possible with just AE. What software are you using for 3d? I had learned a little bit of cinema 4d and had it on a previous computer, but I haven't touched the software in about 5 years. I took 3d animation in high school, but the teacher was a burned out old hippy dude that let us do anything and wouldn't mark us absent if we skipped or came in late, so that was chill, but he didn't teach us much, just let us figure everything out on our own.

How do you like VFS? I've been thinking about going there for quite some time... for film though instead of 3d. Do you know how their film programs are? Or are they more 3d oriented?

Keep in mind Vfs is known for being an "fx" school. Not to say the film program is a bad program, but percentages of people finding work right out of school are much higher in some of the other programs (3d and digital design are the ones I researched)

with film to, unless your really something exceptional, your starting out basically at the bottom school or no school. So it's almost the choice of get to the bottom fast, or build your connections in school and make something happen out of them.

That being said all friends I have in the film program speak highly of it, the school hooks you up fat with gear/vans/underground studios, the people at vfs are mainly international creatives that are inspiring to be around, you learn just as much from them as your instructors. Its just one year but you progress at such an exponential rate im not sure many other places could match it. You'l here mixed reviews about all the vfs programs, but the people complaining are the ones who didnt give 110% while they were here. You get out of it what you put in.

Every morning im stoked to get to class, it's a sick school.

Looks good but make sure post production is a path you wanna go down. Starring at a computer screen 40+ hours a week gets old
