In a country on the other side of the ocean, This happens everyday and we are responsible of it.
That said, The world is really fucked and my thoughts go towards people in Boston who are suffering from this.
I was there this morning, I took a bus back to Montreal from the station downtown.
It was so calm and warm out.

yea you're kinda fucked if you think an innocent 8 year old boy getting killed in a bombing in Tel Aviv is less tragic than an innocent 8 year old boy getting killed in Boston.

I completely agree that Western media will and should focus more on a close-to-home story and I completely understand you'll be more upset about the deaths on your doorstep. I certainly am more touched by them. But to say they're more tragic is wrong.

I agree but at the same time i ask you this. Are those people in iraq caring about the bomb in boston? most likely not. People do care about whats happening in iraq. Its just the shock of something like this happening so close to home for many of us. It hits us in a different way and thats why we react this way. Idk why you gotta turn this into an argument.

How about when a family member or a close friend dies?

Quit trying to act like you or anyone else, cares SO much that every death is equally devastating no matter who it is or where it happens. You're pathetic just for denying that simple fact that not every death is equally tragic.

certainly wasn't the time or place to bring that up and you certainly didn't put that across effectively.

I for one am much more saddened by the deaths in Boston today than those in Iraq today. but I realize neither is more or less tragic than the other.

People were crying everywhere, Children were wounded and watching, hundreds of ambulances, lots of support, lots of police everywhere, I'm glad it was handled well and hurt less than it could have, I was very near to the spot of the explosion outside just minutes before walking into the Prudential Building heading for ice cream and then home. There were about a half million spectators and even more people, like myself, in the wonderful city of Boston for a nice Patriot's day.

Such an unfortunate day in history, but I am blessed to live another one.

Thoughts go out to all those affected seriously and those who are helping like my aunt doing surgeries at the ICU at MGH and the officers helping me get home o my family safely.

I am amazed at the reaction worldwide and across the web, but at the time, I honestly had no idea what was going on or how big scale an event I had witnessed.

I could rant about my opinions and take on the event, but I'm going to try to enjoy life that I luckily am still living.

Peace to all, with hopes and wishes for a safer world.

Hate to say it but I think the death toll will continue to rise, it's gone from 2 to 3 and I've heard reports of 20+ in critical condition...

what is meant is that the life of an innocent in Iraq is worth no less than the life of an innocent in Boston. and this is clearly what you disagree with.

I dont think they are as present as we are on the internet in Iraq.
They are not as well informed as we are.
We are also talking here about one of the most recorded scenes ever in the history of videography and media, the arrival of contestants at a marathon.

Location:
Second of all, in a location where a bomb explodes everyday, of course it wont be as tragic as it would be in a city like boston. Because its unusual.

Relations:
If you are a friend, or you relay to a person that has been hit, maybe its more important to you.
We dont live in iraq and we are constantly told how bad these people are on the tv so it doesnt sound so bad to drop bombs on them, ( and yes we do that ).

* They have a suspect in custody , what does he look like, a taliban.
Someone spotted him running after the bombing ( how is that strange behavior ?, wouldnt you run after someone explodes next to you ). SO RACIST

Would you honestly consider a trial justice in this? I'm pretty certain that capital punishment is unconstitutional in MA, and depending on what they have done up to this and what they will do next, it may or may not be enough to be considered an international crime... so wouldn't they need to be tried in MA?

When my dad was in vet school he saw one of his professors get ripped open in the groin region by a wild boar's tusk, his TA was right there and stuck his hand in the wound and grabbed onto the severed artery almost immediately to keep him bleeding out. They had to get him out of the pen with a rampant wild boar inside before they could put a tourniquet on him. Dude lost his leg but survived. So it can be done, however unfeasible it may seem.


But anyway, back on topic. Shit is so fucked. Its always scary to see something like this happen in an area where all the people shouldn't have to worry about that kind of thing. I can't imagine the fear that all of those people were and still are feeling. Some really powerful photos, the one of the man crying over a female body is heartbreaking.

judging on what he's wearing, i think he was just a supportive bystander who wanted to show his support for all those running the boston marathon. and as tragic as it is for that to happen to anybody, i think that's even worse like that in my book. so sickening that someone would do this. i hope he lives, and feel bad that he has been made famous in a negative way by this event

Shout out to all the Boston Emergency Services and people who stuck around to help out others.


People who organize and execute shit like this try and make us succom to fear and terror

Its people like the emergency services and the runners who continued to finish the race and then donate blood to blast victims that inspire me and show these fuckbags how awesome America is.

Hope everybody who is affected is safe and out of pain.
