At least two explosions were reported at the finish line of the Boston Marathon Monday.

BOSTON —Two explosions have been reported near the Boston Marathon finish line on Boylston Street as thousands of people gathered for the race, and there are reports of injuries.

The blasts happened at about 2:50 p.m. near the intersection of Boylston and Exeter streets. Store fronts have been blown out, and there have been reports of dozens of injuries.

Witnesses said several victims lost limbs, and the area was being evacuated.

The first explosion happened across from the Lenox Hotel and the second blast was about 15 seconds later, witnesses said.

Many of the injured appeared to be spectators who gathered for the 117th running of the race.

NewsCenter 5's Sean Kelly said the impact of the explosions could be felt blocks away.

The victims were being taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.

Fucking sirens nonstop since its happend. What the fuck is wrong with this world. I'm right down the fucking street from Copley Sq. This shit is so different when you're this close. My roommates and I were just about to go there but were too full from qdoba and went back to the dorm.

People standing around cheering for runners and having their limbs blown off and lives changed. This is horrible.

Wowow. My sister brother in law, and parents were there. They were at the scene 10 minutes before the explosion then left to get water. Thank god.

must be disheartening for those runner who are still running or were supposed to finish into that. They have trained so hard to get there and then can't finish because of this.

I haven't heard of any deaths so hopefully we don't.

apparently there were 2 explosions. and luckily no one died, at least so far. although by the sounds of it some woman lost her leg.

luckily it happened about 3 hours after the first person crossed the finish line. so not many people were left on the course. not nearly as bad as it could have been.

It was 3 hours after the winners crossed so the bulk of the runners were already finished, but I'm positive when something like that happens you cease giving fucks about your instantly-infinitely-less-important personal goal.

I'd be more worried about the people who are losing limbs tonight :(

Two dufflebags places up against the buildings were what exploded. This wasn't a gas line. The bombs were not inside the building.

Countless sirens still blasting. I live between several hospitals and Copley and I've never seen so many emergency response vehicles.

Was browsing on my computer and heard the explosions when they happened, had no idea what they were. I stepped out onto the balcony and saw the smoke. Pretty scary shit.
