Hey guys, so I am looking at buying the Atomic FFG 12 for a pair of Atomic Punx. Is it a good over all binding? Or would it be worth it to spend the extra money and get the FFG 14 Team?
If you light and you're not expecting it to last long, then yeah its a good binding. I have some mounted on atomic panics and i dont see them lasting past next year.
If your looking to stay within the 12 din range, look at the Salmon STH 12 drivers. Same heel piece and toe piece as the FFG 14 teams except they have a lower din rating. The FFG 12's are still an alright binding for a smaller person but once again, nowhere near as durable as the driver toe that comes on the Salomon STH12/14/16 Driver series or FFG 14/16 Team series.
Knock me down and call me Susan... The FFG 14 teams are on sale for cheaper then the FFG 12's and STH 12 Drivers on Backcountry right now. So as long as your safe riding in between the 6-14 din range. http://www.backcountry.com/atomic-ffg-14-team-ski-binding http://www.backcountry.com/atomic-ffg-12-ski-binding http://www.backcountry.com/salomon-sth-12-driver-ski-binding sorry for the non spaced or clicky links but my iPad wont let me do that...
id get drivers, they will last longer but they are by no means a bad binding and just judging by the question i would assume they would hold up for you for a while. not everyone needs a full metal 18 din monster
