Besides all the gangster music loving white kids kids on NS, there must be some people here who love a little Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms once in a while.
Beethoven's Emperor Concerto and his 9th Symphony are the two greatest pieces of music ever written ever ever. I could listen to them from now til forever
I'm not a real aficionado, but since I moved to DC I've been listening to the classical station a lot when I'm in the car.
I like the dramatic stuff a lot.
The more toned down stuff (esp. toned down chamber music) I'm not very fond of. Maybe I'm just not well versed enough in classical to understand its subtleties.
I have been playing classical music on the piano for 14 years. It calms me down and helps me in my studies. I am learning liszt liebestraum in a flat major a beautiful but challenging piece. I also listen to it while I'm skiing. It's fine if people don't like it, I just can't stand when someone says it's stupid or old people music.
Sometimes I listen to CBC Radio 2 when they're playing classical when I'm driving. Feels royal as fuck. I don't mind it either. I couldn't name a single song though...
