FKS Repairs help

Hey, newschoolers.

So I got some alpha1s with FKS 155s used a couple years ago. This is my second season on the FKS and I ran into a couple problems.

A) This ones easier, broke a brake off. Wondering whats the easiest way to replace it. I know people have had varied luck with getting parts from Rossignol, so should I look for an used part or go from rossi.(im in Canada if that changes anything)

B) This one I haven't seen as often and I'm wondering if this can be repaired and whether I would be able to do it relatively easy. I figured pictures would be easier to explain whats missing so here.

Also some FKS heel pieces just came up in my regional forum so if the second problem can be fixed would these work?

Think thats everything, let me know if I missed anything. If you need pictures of the binding off the ski let me know. Since I plan to do that soon anyways, as my alphas are trashed. Thanks to anyone who can provide me with some info. +K for help.

Buy old used turntables for parts, or get your shop to call Rossi/Look for a set of baseplates & brakes. The plastic baseplates break a lot, get used to it.

Dont buy the 12 din heel piece for that baseplate. Its a baseplate built more in plastic so it definitely wont hold up if you already broke the ones you have. As for getting a brake, it can be tricky but do able. If you cant find one on NS you can try TGR. Listen to Boax when it comes to the baseplate, just email rossi/dynastar and ask to buy a new baseplate and brake, or let your shop do it for you.

those 12 din heel piece have the exact same base plates as the 15 and 18 din heels.

the used ones might be slightly weaker just from age, but it will be quite a bit cheaper to just buy those old ones and have a bunch of spare parts (like the brakes he already needs) it's really easy to keep a pair of fks' in useable condition for a long time with a few spare parts like brakes, base plates, and the halfmoon pieces.

and to replace your brakes you have to take the binding off the ski so since it looks like you still have one arm of the brake still attached i would just wait until you want to put those bindings on another pair of skis. but that's just me, you might want full brakes for whatever reason.

definitely scope some second hand stores for skis with old fks, i see them pretty often and you can get the whole setup for around $20.

its the old style heel piece baseplate with more plastic around the side, you can see that from the image, they are also a little bit narrower then the new baseplate. As far as I've heard aren't as durable. I agree however with the fact that they are easy to maintain for a long time as long as there isnt any major damage to like baseplates, and snapped brakes.

The old baseplates are identical bud, used a lot of them myself.

The ramp angle is different on the 12 vs. 15 and 18 din fks.

that's because of the difference in toe piece heights, not anything in the heel if i remember correctly.

Opinions on these? They seem to relatively similar with the part near the brake arm is different. Essentially if anyone has an idea, would they have the same baseplate? I imagine the brakes are the same

yep those will be fine, the baseplate and the brakes are the same as on your fks', you will likely have to bend the brakes to fit your skis though, but it's not too hard to do once the brakes are out of the binding.

the plastic piece where the arm attaches to the base is slightly different and im pretty sure that the only reason it's there is to help hold the dildo down when your book isn't clicked in.
