Rodeo 5 easier than backflip?

I can backflip, but not rodeo 5. People tell me rodeo 5 or flat 5 is way easier, but I guess that is all just opinion on if you hate going directly head over heels. What do you guys think?

Some people can't do/suck at straight flips and only do off axis tricks. Which could be the reason they tell you this

theres much less chance of getting hurt doing a rodeo as if you under or over rotate youll just land on your side instead of either catching your tips and slamming your face or landing on your back. with that said though backflips are easy as fuck, rodeos take a fair bit of practice to get to the point where your consistently land them

I landed a rodeo 5 on skis before I could even backflip on a tramp. My way of thinking was just try the flip you're most comfortable and experienced with.

I think backflips a much easier but I know plenty of guys that can do rodeos but can't backflip.

Backflips are the easiest trick ever on skis. I learned them before I could 3 and before I could barely slide a rail. It's all mental.

lincolns>backs>rodeos>fronts       i fronts and backs were my confidence tricks for years but now bag of confidence is with rodeo5s and flats

You think rodeos are easy than fronts? I've never tried a rodeo yet but I can backflip comfortably and just started trying fronts. I find fronts pretty hard to be honest. For awhile I would just land on my back, now I am getting the rotation around but I still flail my arms a bit and I am hitting the snow basically still in a tucked position and backseat so I'm not really riding it out clean.

rodeos will not tire you out as opposed to fronts or backs, plus i like the spotting you can do with rodeos and flats  

fronts backs hucking or laying out either--way take a lot of energy.

with rodeos and flats once i get the initial feel for a jump you can lap these for days.

I feel more comfortable/ at ease poping for a rodeo 5 than for a front. + I don't really like fronts.

imo front flip is just a little harder than a backflip, but for me they take way more balls, over rotating a front flip is possibly the scariest thing that can happen to you.

Fronts and backs easier than everything, I would much rather do either than 3 a jump, that being said I've never tried a rodeo so I wouldn't know

Rodeo 5s are super easy and not scary at all. Backflips are super easy but scary as fuck (sometimes)

Depends on the jump IMO

If it's a small flat take off without much kick I'll throw a rodeo 5 over backflip anytime

Backflips are easy if you can commit & follow through the motion,

I've often seen people throw rodeo 5/Lincon 180 when they loose confidence mid trick, the head tries to spot the landing, and a little 180 gets throwin' into the mix

I wouldn't say either one is easier than the other

Learning a flair in a halfpipe vs backflip is the same thing though I'd rate a backflip in the pipe more difficult especially when you amp up the altitude

ive never done a backflip on skis but ive done flats and fronts. it took me so long to balls up and backflip on a tramp, but after i did it, i realized it was so easy. I guess its the same way on skis. all i can say is, with fronts on skis there is a small risk of getting hurt, but backflips seem to be easier.

I personally think rodeo 5 is easier.  There's multiple opportunities to adjust your rotation and you land switch.  I find landing switch way easier than forward.  I've done horrible rodeo 5s that have ended up being landed tricks, and equally horrible backflips where I just die.

I can do both. My opinion is that backflips are easier but are more scary at first. A rodeo is a trick that may take you a few good falls till you land it but is just so much more fun then a back

if you are hitting a jump for the first time and you dont know how much airtime you are going to have, the rodeo is easier because its harder to under/over rotate.

This is me, when i backflip i send it a little of axis no matter what, even on tramp. But my corks, flats and mistys are all fine.

Lol, this is me exactly. I learned rode 5 on snow and I still can't backie even on a tramp. Call me a pussy but that's how it went for me haha

I can rodeo on trampoline, super eazy. But whenever I try them on snow it's like I do a completely different spin, the hole thing is just wrong.
It may just be mental, I'll have to wait a few months to see.

I learnt rodeo on a small diving board first, I landed first try on snow. Once you get them down they are just as easy as backflips and less scary!

Backflips are definitely easier without a doubt but I would much rather rodeo than backflip anyday. It's just a preference thing

But because you can spot your landing you can tell way before you land if you need to stay tucked/tuck more/open up.

A lot of people are going to disagree with this but you could essentially do a back flip with very little air awareness. Front flips you actually need more because of the blind landing.
