How tight do you buckle your boots when your not wearing them

I have an 85 hardness boot, is there a danger of the plastic stretching if i buckle them tight?

Doubt that it will stretch the plastic that much, just don't tighten them too much.

I usually tighten them just enough to keep them from warping. That's usually around the 2nd notch for my boots.

Protip: Make sure your tongue is correctly positioned before you tighten them, it's not a nice feel taking your boots out in the fall and finding you had left the tongue sideways when you put them away lol.

Yeah i know the toungue is important. But yeah do you think there is a more a danger of them warping from buckiling too tight or warping on there own? Theres gotta be a goldilox zone of where to tighten them for minimum warping from either cause

I'm no expert but I would imagine if you had them too tight warping wouldn't be a serious issue, just set them a little less then what you use when skiing.

Leaving them open causes the tongue to get all weird and stuff. It's mostly the tongue you have to worry about.

I buckle my boots on the same setting that I wear them skiing skiing.

I do the same except for the top which I do one notch less, I have no idea why, but if you buckle it the same as when you ski it wont change much at all by the next time that you wear them. Depending on how long you leave them for..

I don't buckle them. I just do the velcro strap at the top..it makes it easier for when you put them on. As for warping, don't buckle them any tighter than you would if you were wearing them

You shouldn't need to at least, if your boots fit properly

So many people buy boots that are way too big and then have to crank 'em down all the way in order to get any amount of control

Always make sure to now after my shop dude told me warped plastic on boots can lead to weird-ass pressure points on the ankle that can possibly do some long-term damage down the road.
