They're meant to be center mounted, and they have binding reinforcements in the center, although Im not sure if they do not extend farther back for people who want to mount them like that. I would recommend against it since it's meant to be center mounted, however I honestly dont think 2cm back would cause any problems.
I have the 194 and I mounted mine center, and I dont ski switch nearly as much as others on this site. They still charge hard with the center mount, and it just makes the ski much easier in trees or other tight spots. These skis are sooo sick. I would say mount center, and dont sleep on them as they wont charge too much less once you get used to being centered. They're going to feel wierd at first, but you'll get used to it and be happy with how versatile the ski is that way.
Im selling an almost new pair of 194s with brand new Rossi Axial2 140 bindings for 350$, if anyone else is intereted.
The New Life is such a sick ski. Charges crazy hard with the flex profile, yet is super playful due to the rocker profile. One of a kind ski, as most others like it are noodles. They don't have a lot of contact on the snow when your on hardpack, but they still ripp (THE FASTEST fat ski ive been on by far) the groomers up like they're 30mm narrower. They have a short turn radius so they love the trees and it's easy to throw them sideways to scrub off speed when you need to shut it down. Somehow they can arc long GS turns in pow as well, while your surfing on top with no dive whatsoever. Get ready to have some serious fun (more so next year) with these skis. Charging while your surfing is a sickk feeling.
