I sold Doom 3 to buy Half Life 2, all I can say is that it was the best decision of my life. HL2 is so crazy, I could spend an hour just on the physics engine of it, not to mention the graphics and game play. If you liked the original, go buy HL2 NOW!

dude its fucking awesome, i was playing last night and the graphics are amazing, game play is amazing and its just the best there is.

everything is realistic, from sounds to what other character actions may be. shooting out glass sounds just like it would in real life.

we were fucking around just amazed at game play that we shot a barrel full of flammable shit. there was a wood skid leaning up against the barrel. 2 shots caught the barrel on fire then we just watched.

the barrel then blew up and sent the wood skid flying across the screen hitting a wall. it shattered somewhat on the explosion and then some more once it hit a wall. it flew across the screen at a very fast rate. just as if it would in real life.

Multiplayer is CS: Source.

I'm about 40% through it, and its absolutely amazing. Best looking, playing, feeling game ever.

If you have a good enough system to turn everything all the way up, it actually feels like you're there, and it's the first game to really submerge you like that.

Definatly a contender for one of the best games ever made, as expected.

Theres one part when you have the swamp boat, and you need to hit a jump, where you put the barrels under water in an underwater cage to create buoancy to lift a ramp to hit. And its the physics of the game that make it happen, not a puzzle trigger, its frickin amazing.

Yes - the physics are the most amazing part of the game. You can pick EVERYTHING up pretty much, throw it around and watch it bounce off walls, enemies have pretty much perfect ragdoll physics, and the gravity gun...don't even get me started.

you can pick up pretty much any object but physics still come into play. that why you need the gravity gun. it allows you to pick up flammable barrels filled with liquid and throw them like your superman.

^yeah ive never played HL2 but just watched my buddy for like 2 hrs. its is a very down to earth game with all the physics and shit. its the most realistic game you have ever seen, and the AI is incredible. following you around and shooting at building when they see you go across a window.

and for only $50 for the download. takes about a day to download the 4.2GB of game data but well worth it. and you get CS Source as well.

^^^^why pay $50? uhh thats the low end package, you can get the gold package for $100 if you like.

HL2 has an expected game play of 45-60 hours. to put that in perspective... Halo 2 was beaten in 9 hours and you paid $60 for that. with Half Life 2 you get Half life 2, Counter Strike Source, Day of Defeat Source and a few other small games. so basically its $50 for 3-4 games.

hmm now $50 doesnt seem so expensive now does it you dumb bitch?

^yeah i dont think thats going to happen. you have to download and register it on steam. now there is a few cracks coming out i have found but they do not work. goodluck with that, but i have already tried cracking steam and its just not working and its complicated.

thats the whole point of steam so noone could hack the game. you HAVE to register your account on steam and then it shows up in your steam account.

if yuo do get around it let me know and pass that shit this way :)

You can play the game at the same time, you can even play online at the same time, just not on the same server.

^what... HL2 is not played on a server, its not online for that matter. CS Source and DOD Source are and i guess the issue would arrise then. but even with that we tried using the same account and it didnt seem to work, but maybe it was because they were on the same gateway and had similar IP's? but who cares its only $50 thats nothing. ive gotten enough free shit to take a $50 fall once in awhile for good games. plus its a classic game, why not have ur own account?

oh on that note CRUZ... in order to use your friends account wouldnt your friend have to buy it first? haha so end the end 1 person will still have to get HL2 in the first place. cuz you use your steam account if you already have it but have to sign up/ purchase on the steam site. if you dont have steam it downloads it for you.

ITs Sooo Amazing i was playing it today at work(i was being productive) it was soo amazing, i played it on a Laptop and a desktop computer. the laptop played it just aswell as desktop computer. although i cant really tell a big diffeance any ways, but i Love the inplay graphic's and the video graphics. it works soo friggen awsome at the maximum requirements. has any one here played it on maximum requirements?
