yeh I remember seeing the ArmadaNZ website this time last year and thinking how inflated the prices are. I've looked at some other ski websites from Aus/NZ and skis generally seem more expensive over there.

even so. a pair of thalls is like 870 bucks after converting. LOL no park ski is worth that much... ever.

You would truly hate to live in Denmark, thats almost standard price here. Although you can buy skis a little cheaper in Germany when the right sale is on.

yeah I work at a shop in breck that gets a lot of park kids from norway, finland, etc. that buy a ton of stuff because it's "cheap" to them. It really doesn't make that much sense to me (although I lack a formal education in these type of economics) why it's so much cheaper here even though 75% or more of it isn't even made in america.

I would have to say demand is the main reason for such high prices, normally they would ship all there products to Europe and North America with a high amount of demand but there isn't much demand for New Zealand so it's just out of the way hence the high prices.

Nope its because we pay a higher tax and have different rules.. If you order something online from the US it gets through 'customs duty' and you have to pay 25% of the original price of the product, so if you buy a pair of Thalls on Evo for lets say 550$. Then you actually have to pay about 700$ and after custom duty is added you have to pay i think 70$ in tax for it, depends on the price of the object. And then at last the shipping which is fucked up expensive over the seas. So yeah, if you love skiing, living in denmark/scandinavia sucks.

I figured it wasn't demand. Even though those countries have less people overall I can't imagine the actual demand for those products is much lower. I guess you better know some people with proform if you live there haha
