Looking to get into electronic music production/DJing, advice?

So basically I have spent my share of time messing around on free software and garage band that I want to go up to the next level.

I understand that there is different equipment required for both-Production needs a DAW, samples, etc and DJing needs some sort of live software, mixer and MIDI. I have spent a good amount of time performing shows with my friends band (guitar) and enjoy performing, and IDEALLY my goal for this whole venture would be to produce music that I can then perform.

Im at sort of a wall as to where to go next, I have a budget of a few hundred bucks, so I was hoping that someone who knows a thing or two could help. Thanks

I've been producing for years, started off with drum and bass which was big here in UK and now do house. For what must be about 5 good years of producing, I started on propellerheads reason and have tried pro tools logic ableton (Which might solve your producing and playing live dilemma) but hhave stuck to reason all the time. It might make a lot of sense to you because its laid out like a studio rack. the workflow is similar to that of a guitar, its effects pedals then the amp. I also dj with my bro and we use traktor which is good but people look down on you cos they think using a computer to dj is cheating.

Lessons dont really help, you just gotta go for it and keep at it. hope this helps, i've put my soundcloud below.
