Ill start off by saying the park is pretty fun, but from early january to closing there were no real changes to the park. They built mounds of snow up that could have been a jump line, but roped them off so you couldn't hit the three jumps in succession. The down rails never changed position, and they closed it a week early. I know it costs a lot of cash to build a decent park, and i know Bridger is focused on keeping the ridge and slushman's safe, but if they can afford 2 new lifts this summer, they should be able to save some money to put into the park. I also know Moonlight and Big Sky are close and have good parks, but they are a whole lot farther from bozeman than Bridger, and I know that with some creativity Bridger's park could be better.
I have heard that one reason they don't do much is that none of the cat's have a fork to move the rails with, and if this is true that is one goal of this petition. Another is to create a park with flow, and that would hardly cost anything compared to what they do know. A final idea would be to implement a $5-10 season park pass that would both discourage gapers from running rampant and provide more funding for the park. A tow rope could even be purchased to eliminate the mandatory ride up the beginner lift.
I know Bridger isnt focused on park, but the goal of this petition is to try to get them to realize that they should be at least a little bit more. Its a huge demographic in a college town, and while it doesn't have to be instant, a commitment to a better park being developed would be nice. I also realise they are non-profit but that shouldn't translate to sub-par. I'm not asking for the world, just basic improvements. And finally, if they are broke the record this year for the most lift tickets sold, and can afford 2 new lifts they can't be so broke that these ideas are unreasonable.
If this goes well enough ill send it to all the emails i can find on the website.
