What do you mean is the best looking trick ever done and who have done it in the best looking way?
I think it is Frej Jonsson´s dub cork 9 safety to blunt... Write your opinion here :)

alley oop is when you carve one way and spin the other direction. it usually happens in the pipe, but when it's on a park jump, it looks glorious.

Not seeing how you'd say that's a rodeo 7, though. Definitely a cork 7.

It was a rodeo 7. And I don't think the term alley-oop really works for jumps, maybe it should be called opp carve or something?

Yea you have no idea what you are talking about. Alley opp refers to when you spin away from the pipe wall as you go down it, it has nothing to do when it carves. Furthermore that is def a rodeo/flat 7, seriously you think that is a cork? lol

It's a flat or cork 7 and in no way a rodeo.

There's really no other way to describe what it is. An alley-oop is generally thrown carving right and spinning left or vice-versa. Basically, it's a spin against the direction of travel, which is exacltly what I showed in the video.

Whether you want to differentiate the trick name because it's thrown on a park jump vs. a pipe is up to you.

Also, don't you have to be able to double before you can go around running your mouth?

Okay man, like you really have no idea what you're talking about. Like you realize how cork 7 is the one trick that is very unique and not difficult to mix up with other tricks right lol? Like cork and flat spin have NOTHING at all in common with the rotation lol. The only thing comparable to cork is d-spin.

Again, that is a rodeo/flat 7 just whatever you want to call it, since everyone uses those two trick names interchangeable nowadays.

have to say i like switch rodeo 7's, cork 7 and 9 dub blunts, cork 3's and a good rodeo 9.

and also illinoisauce, flat and rodeo are pretty much the same, cork and flatspin/rodeo completely different.

Yeah, I was getting them mixed up, my bad. It's a flat spin, not a rodeo though.

Everyone calls rodeo/flat spins the same thing. Rodeo 7, flat 7, no one really cares what you call it. Difference is tech rodeo feet over head, flat feet are not over head. But everyone uses the two terms interchangeably.

Ally opp has to do with the pipe wall man, nothing to do about how you carve... Hence why it can't be used for park jumps.

It's the same idea, though.

Picture a quarter pipe at the end of a run with a level deck. You come into the pipe veering left, you air out, spin right and come back down. Now, just picture the same pipe with the vert chopped off the top so it is now a kicker with a landing. Now picture the same approach, same trick, and same spin direction.

Why should one be considered an alley oop and one not?

It's a completely different trick though... One is in a halfpipe the other is on a jump; one you go up and land back down on a vertical wall, the other you fly forward and land on a incline. You are comparing apples to oranges.

I don't know much about skating, or pipe skiing for that matter. What I can say to you, is that you are the only person I have ever heard use the word ally opp and apply it to something other than a quarter pipe/half pipe.

There is no way I can prove to you that isn't correct, this isn't like math where 1+1=2. All I am saying what you're calling that trick is against popular nomenclature, you can continue to call it that if you want, just it will most likely confuse anyone you are talking to.

yea, it's not really applicable to jumps. If you were going to do a left rodeo you would carve to the right. It would be so awkward to try and carve left and set a left rodeo.

It's so rare to see it outside of the pipe, so that's why you would never hear people say it even if it was the correct term. I can't even count more than one instance where I've seen it done outside of the pipe. Whatever it may be called (opposite spin, alley-oop, etc.), I just wish they were done more often....

Like what Crotchkiller said, the only way you can carve a rodeo is by doing in the opposite direction of the spin. Like try imagining carving left and then doing a left rodeo 5, just doesn't work.

Again I don't really think that is an ally opp, instead just carving on a rodeo. Which I agree is rare, most people set rodeos from popping with their bases flat on the kicker,and it def looks way more steezey if you carve like Max did. But again I don't think you can or should call that an ally opp, just call it carving a rodeo 7. Or just rodeo 7 blunt.

i cant find a video of it but david crichtons massive cork five (over a hip if i remember correctly) from some mega park shoot i think. its pretty old footage but it looks so huge because of that early 2000s sketchiness

That tick is the one that came to mind when i saw this thread. Both is dub 9 and dub 7 are two of the coolest tricks imo.
