Fcp dropping frames

hey NS

I am currently having issues with dropped frames in fcp 6. Im not a computer genius so I'm not totally sure how to resolve this. Any help would be appreciated. Ill list the system I'm running as well as the type of video files I'm editing.

System-

- Mac pro
processor: 2.7 ghz intel core i7
memory: 4gb 1333 mhz DDr3
Graphics: Intel Hd graphics 3000 384mb
software: OS X 10.8.2

Im editing 1280/720 t2i footage converted to prores format

my hard drive has 550gb of storage free

Did this problem just start?
What type of ProRes?
How fast is your hard drive?

And FCP 6??

yeah its started recently. fcp 6, it originally started doing it in prores 422 but then i changed to prores 422 LT at 50% quality, still no improvements.
the drive speed is 5400

just tell it to stop warning you about dropped frames and move on, you wont even notice when you're watching (unless its choppy of course)

yes exactly why im concerned it gets a bit choppy at the start of some clips. ive turned it off but still notice the effects
