Hey, so I've noticed that there isn't really anything on this site about Mad River Glen in Vermont, although it doesn't have a park it's one of my favorite mountains, it's got arguably the craziest glades in the east. This thread is just to discuss your experiences here or whatever.

Because its by far the sickest all mountain skiing in the east when they have some good snow. Such good vibes there too since its only locals. And with sugarbush park 5 minutes away you really can't complain about that issue. (Bush is probably the most creative park I've ever skied and all the features are built very well) but yeah mad river has some sick drops and a great feel.

I always wanted to go there and try out the run they do in the unconventional terrain thing. That place looks fun.

Go up there every year with some friends...Fuckin love it!!!! Paradise will absolutely kick your ass!
Conditions can be a hit or a miss but the vibe is so sick!

if the snow is fresh and soft, you can't find a better place to ski in the east.
if it's icy, you can't any place worse.

Um, didn't they get a park this last season or the one before?

I've never even been there but I'm pretty sure they built a wood park and have some metal features as well. I think it's all rails though, no jumps

Aside from Tuckerman Ravine, MRG is the most core skiing experience that one can have on the east coast. Went up there for the first time with my dad this year. We were lucky enough to ski it after a pretty decent storm (I think they got 6-8").

Dropping in off the single chair, I had no idea what to expect, but the runs are long, steep and full of aggressive features like drops, chutes, and natural moguls.Our favorite run of the day was to the skier's right of Paradise. It was a great glade with an steep, sustained pitch and some really fun chutes.

All in all, a fun day. I'll definitely be going back.

i went there for the first time this year for the STEFT, and i was so impressed. there should be a lot more mountains operated exactly like MRG.

Fuck that. As somebody who loves freeriding I think it's retarded that snowboarding is still banned.

Seriously, I thought this was America. No I won't go to the back of the bus. You'd think in 2013 we would be passed this.

i think its lame that its 2013 and people still dont accept that other people decide who can and can not go places.

there are trails you cant take bikes on
there are trails you cant walk on because its for bikes
you cant go in the mormon temple unless you are mormon
you cant go in the mens room if you are a dude unless u want to get arrested
just because you have a fast car doesnt mean you can break the speed limit
if your mountain pass has 4x4 only sign on you cant drive it in a 2wd
there are clubs you cant get into unless you are rich
there are bars you would not want to go to

the list is never ending

Technically, you are allowed to snowboard MRG, you just can't ride the chairlift.

I drive by there on the way to Sugarbush. It looks like it would be the funnest place on the East Coast after a big storm! It's pretty close to me so I definitely wanna try to go there next season!
