Replying to How to stop/get rid of rust on car body panels

I live up north at a sort of high elevation and its been wet here since October. Anyways it looks like its not going to snow anymore and from here on out its going to be constantly rainy.

Anyways I drive an older Toyota truck which I know are perticularly rust prone, and my new snow tires had a higher off set and kicked up tons of shit on the side of my truck, and I'm noticing there's little pin point rust spots on the door and side panels, with the biggest being like half the size of a dime.

My question is how to I stop this and get rid of it? A certain kind of wax or polish that will help? Or do I need a new coat of paint? Or am I fuck and now drive a rusty pile?
