I just got my licence in November, anyways I just got home from a Mammoth vacation thinking my season was over, as I live in Milwaukee WI and all places here are closed. But whaddya know, Granite Peak (~3 hours north) is open next Saturday! I gotta convince my parents... So what's the farthest you ever got to drive?

My parents couldn't care how far I drove when I got my license (almost 7 years ago now) as long as I was safe and didn't do anything stupid.

Down the street and back... Is it your license or permit?

my parents only wanted to let me drive around the local city. I wonder how granite looks now, I've only been there once this season.

Let me drive up to my cottage on small roads at night. But only after a couple months of proving that I'm capable and responsible

I got my license after most my friends, so my rents were used to me driving with newly licensed friends.
Im pretty sure I drove myself to go skiing the weekend after I got mine.

Probably the lamest thing you can call your parents.

Calling them by their first names is worse. I cringe every time I hear someone talking to a parent and calling them Rick or Susan

I paid for gas, insurance and maintenance from the start so I got to go anywhere I wanted, just had to pay for it. So it depends on how worth it it is for you hahaha

Why would you want to be in a cabin by yourself for a week?

Secluded fapping.
Mine let me drive to Whistler from Vancouver pretty shortly after getting my licence, and the furthest I've gone on my own since is about 6 hours, but they wouldn't care if I went further. OP just be reasonable when asking, and promise to call when you get there etc. etc.

I had to drive an hour each way to highschool so they never really cared how far I went. I didn't have to but I always told them where I was going and we never had any problems.
If you're parents aren't super cool with the idea, and you convince them it's alright, I'd make sure not to do anything reckless. Watch your speed/ don't crash that shit. It def won't help you if you convince them to let you go, say you're a good drive and then have to tell them you got a ticket going 95 in a 40 on the way up or something.
Good luck.

i definitely remember driving at least 2.5 hours to go skiing shortly after I got my license. I cant think of anything further than that but my parents probably wouldve had a hard time with anything over 3 hours

I didn't drive too much unless i had to go somewhere, but once i bought a truck they didn't really have limits anymore.
All times are Eastern (-5)
