When im switch and spinning left i kinda slide my skies like /| or |\ and get near sideways as i take off the kicker. Should i have most of my weight on my right foot? Usually thats the way i have my weight distributed. + k for good advice
Well if you have too much weight on your right ski it will be more stuck on the kicker and you'll have your prob.. So try to put more even pressure and always remember to be patient with your pop off the kicker
I like slide till im almost sideways on the kicker by the time i pop. Sliding just seems to be the easiest way for me but i dont know how well it will work on giant jumps
Sounds like a subconcious thing because you're not confident. Im assuming you can ski switch pretty well and hope you can carve switch, if not learn that get some confidence riding backwards. When you hop to switch to hit the kicker set yourself up to be || but with a slightly staggered stance and try and maintain that all the way to the lip.
Stagger your feet like everyone has said (left tail should be further downhill than your right tail). Then do switch late 180s all day on medium kickers to teach yourself to pop and be patient with the spin.
Also you spoke about how your weight should be balanced between feet. like hitting a kicker regular you should have even weight between your feet and remain strong as the angle of the lip increases to make sure you dont suck up the lip and then as you reach the top pop like you would regular. The staggered stance will help you do this as you have a stronger stance for the gradient change of the wedge.
Im pretty confident riding switch i just have a hard time setting a big rotation from sweich stance. Like sw 1s and 3s i can do fine but i cant seem to set my legs in such a way that i can push off into a big rotation
Buddy of mine has this weird subconscious thing, that he somehow stops rotating after a sw1.
He takes of fine, but then spots the landing and waits for his balance point to come around. But that doesn't seem to work with higher spins, at least not for me.
