You're just approaching the situation the wrong way with AR6. You need to come up to him slowly, with your hands in front at waist height. Let him sniff the back of your hands for a moment; this gets him comfortable with your scent. Never raise your arms above your head as he sees this as an act of aggression.

Once he becomes comfortable around you, scratching under his chin will cause him to become quite docile.
