more features with final cut pro, for example final cut pro lets you edit 24 fps where as express will not (i think you can still do it in express, but its not goin to be as good or give u the full effect of shooting in 24fps). if ur not goin to be shooting in high def or 24 fps or looking to do anything super crazy then express should work out fine for you, plus its cheaper.

yes way better. imovie can only take short clips and put them together with a few effects

ya it beats the shit out of imovie, imovie is for those who don't know shit about editing. but u expand its borders very quickly i found and it limits you a lot.
