I'm pretty into big mountain jumps and cliffs and in lots of movies you see the skiers going up the hill with sleds to the jumps they built is there any place were I could do that shit because I hate hiking

You can't sled on ski hills.

But if you have avy safety training (which you clearly don't), Rogers Pass is a popular spot with good snow.

this is really fucking funny. Are you for serious??? There are thousands of mountains to sled ski in BC and Alberta! try googling BC sled ski and see what you get. don't just send it though, you need backcountry/avy awareness and experience amongst your crew, local knowledge about the zones, avy safety gear, good judgement and some mechanical expertise before you even think about it. Plus, you better be strong enough to get your sled unstuck and be willing to travel far without a motor mid-winter in the backcountry should an unfortunate situation ever arise. After a few years in the trenches you'll be killing it like this:

sled skiing in BC doesn't exist. By doesn't exist, I mean it exists everywhere.

Alberta, not so much. Maybe in bighorn country has some sled skiing potential, but most of Alberta is provincial/national park.

Based on what you asked though, you either don't really know anything about western Canada and skiing in mountains, or you're just trolling us.

You can sled up in the Kicking horse Slackcountry from what a guide there was telling me.

But it don't sound like your ready for it if you're just blinding asking like a noob on NS. Try doing a little research for yourself, word of mouth is one thing, but you're coming off like an idiot.

Yea, way over in Quartz Creek area.

From a Slackcountry from Kicking Horse perspective though, that's a full day of touring to get way over there, which isn't worth it.
You can hear the sleds from two ridges past Kicking Horse borders though.

you cant sled on any mountains thats retarded but you can sled near or on neighbouring peaks at a lot of mountains on the interior

Still backcountry, but usually is accessed via resort. So think of ducking under the boundaries, and skinning and skiing everything around it.

My buddy who works there says if they have a problem with the sledders multiple times they call the cops and the cops just wait at the end of the access road to nail them for drunk driving after having apres sledding beers at the trailhead. evil bastards!


From what I know they are the only ones who can legally kick you off their tenure. Most local snowmobile clubs have agreements with the cat operations in the area so they don't poach while they are in operation.

Yeah the have an exclusive rights tenure on their land, I guess you get that stuff when you're the first cat ski operation. My class went up there to learn about cat operations and for our second day of ast training. Just from talking to the guides you can tell it's a big problem, but yeah they write down the plate number and get a cop to ticket them, and it happens pretty often.

I'm pretty sure they're the only place in BC like this, I know a bunch of people that sled in Retallack and Big Red cat tenure, and they get shit from the operators but they can't due anything about it.

Powder Cowboy Catskiing in fernie had to shut down a few years ago due snowmobilers poaching their land too.

The sled and heli cat scene in golden is fairly intense. Lots of helicopters buzzing sleds. Legally it's crown land do its fair game but as Darryl said most have a gentlemen's agreement. Although lately people have not been giving a shit

The backside of Sunpeaks is great, there is a snowmobile tour/rental place and im sure they have maps of the trails. Went there with a friends dad who is a mountain guide for my birthday, best skiing day of my life!
