a handgun is not meant to kill, its especially not meant to murder, ive got 2 handguns that i use purely for sport, thats its purpose. even with a concealed carry, you dont carry one to kill people, you carry one to defend yourself, defense does not = killing. if someone is threatening your life, you use it to defend yourself, which could mean just pointing it at the guy, and yes it could mean shooting him, and at that point, its a deadly weapon, just like if i used my knife i carry every day to defend myself. i dont carry it around with the purpose of using it to kill people, but if i was attacked I could use it to defend myself and at that point, it becomes a deadly weapon just like handgun does.
and like i said way earlier, CCW holders make up a tiny fraction of our gun crime, knives kill more people, beating and blunt objects account for more death.
its great if you want to stop gun violence, but everything you are suggesting is simply ignoring where the real problem is and focusing on what IS NOT a problem. I dont know why you and all the other anti-gun people choose to focus on the smallest fractions of the overall problem, and not the vast majority of the problem. I have to think its emotional thinking, guns are scary, i dont like rednecks, carrying a gun all the time is scary, and thats where the thinking stops, because if you were to think past that, you would see that the gun culture, rednecks and republicans, CCW's, scary looking guns, etc. contribute the least to our gun violence problem.
