roughly the same? what? It is astonishing to me you can ask if I have taken a stats course before but you claim their violent crime rates are anything of the same. If you want to look at strictly the numbers we all know that is a biased. The US has 5x a larger population that the UK does so there's 5x the people available to commit the crimes. You have to do it on a per capita basis.

When doing so we can see the UK has a 4.4x higher violent crime rate per capita than the US does. And that is roughly the same? I don't know how you come up with your numbers but I am not the one that needs to brush off their stats text book. To answer your question though yes I have I took AP Stats in high school and passed the AP exam. I would have taken it in college however my 3 AP credits took the place of the class.

What does the lethality of a weapon have anything to do with crime rates? Either tool can easliy kill someone, a stab to the throat is just as lethal as a shot to the chest but I am not even going to go there because this argument is ridiculous. It is obvious you have a personal vendetta against guns because that is the only logical thing I can come up with for you ignoring violent crime rates which encompass everything vs. gun crime alone.

I have a Kimber Tactical Pro II 4" barrel .45 and I absolutely love it. I wouldn't have done it any other way looking back on my buying experience. It is a bit more money however you pay for what you get. If you have any questions or thoughts fire away because I love mine and I would recommend one to anyone who is interested.

or you understand that sometimes shit happens and maybe you want a way to protect yourself. You are under the impression that all cc people will draw their gun no matter what which simply is not the case. At least with me its not the case.

I have the ability to analyze a situation and make a split second decision on what the best outcome for me is. If a guy has me at gun point i will not grab my weapon unless he drops his guard. If i know i dont have a way out why would i grab my gun? Id try to bargain my way out.

If the guy in front of me at the grocery store pulls his gun and points it at the clerk i promise you he will have a gun in his back in a heartbeat. And yes, this exact situation happened to my aunt no more than a year ago.

The Judge is a cool gun. But it's pretty big ha. Bigger than I would want to be carrying IWB. Also a 410 shell in a hand gun kicks way more than I was expecting so quick shooting isnt the most ideal, BUT you are shooting 410 shells so accuracy it's as big of a deal. Its def a gun to keep in the car/truck for sure. You pull that out and people will step away fast.

While this is true, the amount of uninformed individuals when it comes to guns is what is sad to me.

There is all this hoopla ban AR-15's and ban magazines over 10 rounds. As a responsible gun owner I get sick of hearing all this gun debate talk and it saddens me to see states like Conn putting in place gun laws that are punitive against law abiding citizens treating them like criminals. I fail to see why a law abiding citizen should be held accountable for some wack jobs actions.

People want to feel like they are doing something to sleep better at night. However in reality their policies do nothing to prevent these crimes from happening in the first place. There are millions upon millions of magazines over 10 rounds in circulation, i fail to see how a ban on the future sales of magazines is going to stop a criminal from acquiring a magazine from the pre ban period. Evil finds a way to inflict harm, regardless of a gun ban or not.

just yesterday I had a fun day shooting these guns:

but mostly the SKS since ammo is by far the cheapest.

It's concealed carry I have a problem with. There is absolutely no need in this country to carry a handgun on you. It's a product of being completely paranoid and leads to an insecure nation (case and point, the USA). The more armaments there are walking around in the street, the LESS safe the place is. I'm incredibly glad for Canada's laws on conceal carry and restricted guns yet their more liberal laws on useful firearms.

and getting attacked by wildlife is a terrible excuse to conceal carry. first off, why the eff would you want a 9mm defending yourself against a bear? I'll take my 12 gauge and slugs thank you. and then you realize 90% of the population doesn't even live where there are any dangerous animals at all. Maybe the very occasional moose, but how many moose deaths are there that don't involve a vehicle (where a firearm would be useless anyways)??

And I know I speak for the vast majority of Canadians when I say concealed carry of firearms has absolutely no place in our society.

I go on 10 day solo backpacking trips into the deep backcountry at least a couple times a year. I carry on those trips. Am I gonna lug a 12 gauge through the woods on 15 mile hikes? No, I'm gonna carry my 1911. Not only would it be extremely easy to get into trouble with 2 legged beasts, there are also a ton of dangerous ones of the 4 legged kind up there. Yes, I would rather have a .45 with a bear than nothing.

Considering that most crimes are committed in public and not in private at the home, what good does having a gun locked in your safe at home do when someone tries to car jack you, or rob a gas station when your pumping gas? Having a gun does you no good if you don't have 1) quick access to it or 2) have it on you.

You may carry a 9mm which is fine for personal defense but my carry weapon is .45 ACP Hollow Points. A clip full of HP's against any animal is going to slow it down if not kill it. Against a bear it may not kill the bear but if placed in the head or neck vitals that bear is going down no problem. This is a last resort but if I am going ATV'ing in the woods up north at my cabin I am carrying a gun.

One thing I love about mine is the Trijicon Night Sights. Never have needed to use em but if the situation presents itself I will be happy I have them.

Definitely great sights. I actually was just talking to one of my buddies whos a well respected centerfire shooter who has shot kimbers and he said that anything off their main production line you won't notice a difference in the years, and that it is really in custom products or in their higher end products that you see the difference. Being that the only people I have talked to about them for the most part have been competition shooters, they noted the difference in their guns between the years. It sounds like they should actually be getting better now as they have added some new equipment to their line that should make their guns tighter. So in other words, nothing for you to worry about and what I was hearing was just about competition pistols.
