maybe if someone could give me an actual argument other than just stating its unnecessary for americans to own guns because guns are bad, id at least take them somewhat seriously.
LEGAL GUN OWNERS in this country are not a problem, if you look at what the liberals and media (i guess now canadians too?) focus on, "assault" rifles, large capacity magazines, and CCW's for the most part. ALL rifles account for less than 2% of total gun crime, now lets just think how many of those rifle are "assault" rifles, how many of those are legally owned, and then lets look at how many of those had or used all of their large capacity magazine. we are probably talking the smallest fractions of a percent of our total gun crime. CCW holders? around 500 crimes since 2007, thats less than 1% of total gun crime. so sweet, the republicans are rednecks everyone is focusing on, like they are the cause of the problem, carrying their handguns on them and shooting soda cans with their AK's account for pretty much nothing.
i keep saying this, and i guess ill have to again, but its our gangs/inner city crime that makes up the HUGE majority gun related death, gangs and career criminals alone making up over 80% care to guess how many of those gang members are walking into gun stores and filling out the background check they're probably guaranteed to fail so they can purchase a traceable gun?
we have over 30,000 gangs, over 1.4 million gang members, I hate to compare us to crime ridden south american countries, but when you look at those numbers, unfortunately, we are pretty damn comparable. we have a higher concentration of gang members and criminals than some of the most violent south american countries, especially when you look at the concentration in inner cities, we have some extremely violent, crime ridden areas. Its so insanely obvious that its not the rednecks and CCW holders causing the problem. yet the media and misinformed liberals love to focus on them, maybe its not politically correct to blame gangs and inner city crime because its mostly made up of minorities?
its easy to look only at the numbers and say "see the US has more gun crime than canada" but id like to see how many countries we're being compared to have the concentration of gangs and inner city crime that we have, an extremely violent drug trade/war on drugs, is a neighbor with a fucked country like mexico where we get a lot of our gangs and crime from, along with illegal gun trade.
I would really like someone arguing against guns to show me why its our legal gun owners, rednecks, republicans, CCW holders, "assault rifles", large capacity magazines, etc.. is the problem. id like to see why you think taking away the rights of the smallest contributers to gun violence is the answer.
oh and all this being said.. its extremely easy to avoid any or all of the violence and crime you hear about in america, pretty much just dont live in the shitty parts of big cities and your good. having been to the UK multiple times, one time for almost 2 months, its much more sketchy walking down the street at night there, and dont forget to lock your car and front door, otherwise its a pretty much guaranteed robbery, and supposidly i was in a decent area.
the media makes it seem like the entire country has a violence problem but really, you'd have to actually put some effort into it to end up in a violent area. shit i think its been 15 years since we've had a murder in my town of over 150,000 people. and literally EVERYONE has a gun here, (cant tell you how many people i know with drum mag's and multiple "assault" rifles. you see people walking down the street with pistols on a holster all the time. you can probably see why all this anti gun BS coming up seems a bit ridiculous to gun owners like me? when you look at areas like where i live, where guns contribute to absolutely no violence at all, taking away our rights because of the violence in some shit inner citys, which is pretty much a foreign country to us, seems a little fuckey.
