Yes there is a bit of common sense when it comes to what weapons people can own without proper training, something you lack. The laws are correct as is and shouldn't be changed. There is nothing wrong with owning a semi-auto firearm and if you want to own an automatic weapon you have to acquire a Class III license and that is your choice but its not easy to obtain.

Of course its subjective, but come on use some common sense there is nothing wrong with a semi auto rifle, one pull of the trigger one bullet. I use mine for hunting not school shootings. Any gun in the hands of a person with evil intentions is dangerous.

What is funny to me is how a Canadian with little gun experience or knowledge is trying to tell us we need stricter gun control. LOLZ

What are FBI and UN Numbers not factual enough for you?

You said a hunting rifle isn't meant to kill someone but a handgun was. I pointed out how that is a ridiculous argument.

I have never advocated for hunting with a handgun that is the owners choice, however I don't and will never see a problem with concealing a handgun. I do not want to be a victim to some gangbanger who has no value for human life. You can do what you want but I am not rolling over to some criminal.

Who decides who is responsible to own a concealed weapon? You can't be serious, you need to actually google gun laws in America. But I will answer your question anyways.

If you purchase a new firearm you have to clear ATF background checks which ensure you aren't a felon. It is illegal for felons to hunt or own a firearm. Yes non-violent felons shouldn't be able to own a firearm. Who is going to be responsible for deciding who is non violent and who is? If you do something that severe that you become a felon, then you need to be held accountable for your actions, something you wouldn't know anything about.

What are you talking about? When are handguns used for intimidation in nonviolent crimes? Using a handgun is arming yourself to commit a crime which would fall under violent crime so I don't know where you get these ideas but your wrong.

I don't see why it is not a basic right. If someone is threatening you and wants to do harm to you why should you be denied the right to defend yourself? You are a fool for thinking you shouldn't be able to arm yourself in self defense if you have taken the proper steps to do so. To be able to Concealed Carry you have to take a firearms safety and training course to do so, anyone can't just carry.

The fact you think felons should be able to own firearms say everything. You are a fool.

If I have taken the proper training to legally carry a gun around why not? The laws in my state allow me to do so. I would like to know how you could defend yourself against an armed criminal when you yourself are unarmed.

If carrying a gun around to defend yourself against violent people is bad, then why are police armed? Should they not be able to carry around a handgun to defend themselves or others?

getting the proper training is not that difficult. What about people who can't afford the proper training? wouldn't you be denying them their "basic rights"?

What does carrying a pipe bomb have to do with concealing a handgun? You aren't even comparing apples to apples. If a criminal is going to carry a pipe bomb I can't stop him, that is out of my control but how many criminals use pipe bombs as their weapon of choice, none. Pipe bombs aren't even a logical weapon because to commit crimes you have to be in close quarters with other people and if you used a pipe bomb you would blow yourself up in the process. See this is the problem, you focus on things that aren't even the real issues. When have concealed carry owners ever been the issue when it comes to violent crime? They never are.

If people cannot afford the proper training in ordrer to CC then they certainly couldn't afford the handgun or ammo to conceal in the first place. Is that really the best you can come up with? Your level of trolling is off the charts, come back when you have something well thought out to present. Oh wait... you never do.

Keeping a loaded gun to defend yourself against someone breaking into your house who most likely is armed is only logical. If they have a loaded gun you won't have time to put bullets into your magazine and load your gun to defend yourself

i wasnt aware that the US see themselves with one level of the "3rd tier" people of el salvador, honduras and jamaica. this is reading a stat like you wanna read it. compare the US to other countries with a somewhat comparable socioeconomic structure and you will probably see that there could be a correlation between gun ownership and homicides (i use the word "could" because i am not acting like i know it all and dont use made up statistics or interpretation to justify my opinion)

this video is horseshit. the "host" himself said that there are obviously less homicides in a country with a gun ban. idk why he didnt stop there.

then he turns around and compares the US with yemen and the countries i listed before. i stopped watching there. roughly 8000 gun related deaths with what? 300 million people? UK with around 60 million have around 60 gun related deaths. they act like the guy cut a few decimals or so.

this video is the perfect example of pro-gun propaganda in the truest sense of the word. from uninformed people for uninformed people. hear what you wanna hear.

When you compare violent crime which includes gun related crimes that is a way better measure than just gun violence. why not compare violent crimes in ALL of the OECD countries?

you do realize that "violent crime" has different meanings in different countries? Those stats are very tough to compare.

Either way, why not compare murders? What do you have to say about that? Do you think less violent crime and more murders (per capita) is better? Plus murder is a lot easier to compare across the board.

Frankly I think that HIGHER rates of violent crime and LOWER murder rates speaks volumes for how gun control works. More bad guys committing crimes, but less people dying? Seems like gun control is working to me...

obviously not the same. you would expect "all violence against the person" to be pretty common. also your stance indicates that you think that shooting someone who isnt going to threaten your life is legitimate.

the first other western country "behind" the US is finland with less than half of its homicide rate. then there are countries like germany, sweden, spain who all have less than a fifth of the US homicide rate. apart from cultural differences, there very well could be a correlation regarding gun laws. but americans will never find out if they arent willing to give it a try.

you can leave things like they are (which hopefully everyone agrees is not a good situation with 10000+ homicides every year) or try something new. but crying over a 230 year old sheet of paper wont help anybody. seriously, the world looks nothing like 200 years ago and with its modern societies, you cannot live your "i am responsible for ONLY myself"-thingy anymore.
