This has got to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard.  Want to cause widespread panic in Florida?  Use a big word.  What a bunch of fucking idiots.  That fact that these guys could face criminal charges for playing a harmless joke on people who are juuuuuuuuust smart enough to keep breathing whilst sleeping is absurd.

They told their listeners that "dihydrogen monoxide" was coming out of the taps throughout the Fort Myers area. Dihydrogen monoxide is water.

The popular deejays are mainly in all this trouble (potentially of a felony level) because their listeners panicked so much — about the molecular makeup of their drinking water, however unwittingly — that Lee County utility officials had to issue a county-wide statement calming the fears of chemistry challenged Floridians.

Florida, you  embarass the entire country on a near-daily basis.  Between the bath salts, Jeb Bush and idiocy being protected by law now, you guys are really par for the idiocracy course.  I think Florida may have gangrene, and we should probably just amputate it.

I don't even understand how they could possibly be facing criminal charges for that. It's not their fault people are so fucking uneducated they decided to panic without even doing a quick Google search, or, better yet, actually KNOWING what the fuck H2O is. I hate stupid people.

Yeah... this must be the first time a disc jokey has ever gotten in trouble for saying something on the air!

They're not going to be found guilty of anything because they'll be protected under freedom of speech. Cases like this have been going on since the 80s and probably longer than that. They might be fired depending on how pussy the station is to the sensitive and stupid audience but that's all. Not a big deal guys, move along.

I thought the same thing so I looked it up and they're hanging their hat on a law that says it's illegal to create a false scare or panic about water supply, similar to yelilng "Bomb" in a crowded airport or something...  But it isn't false, that shit is pouring out of every faucet on the planet hahahaha they're just idiots.

I wonder if the schools will adopt this newfound insistence on dumbing shit down too.  Will this scary chemistry term be banned forever?  How about all unnecessarily long and scary words?  One really ends up pondering how deep the stupidwell really is, and where it would stop if this type of logic was actually applied.  It seriously blows my mind to think of how stupid people really are, yet they have survived this long.  How have they not ingested something poisonous or gotten on an offramp or something? 

In any event, when they find out that they got joked on most people would facepalm and chuckle it off.  Only a Floridian would say "Someone should lose their job for making me realize just how stupid I am."

Update 4:36 p.m. Eastern: We noticed that the station seems to be enjoying this controversy, despite the very real concerns expressed to the Lee County utility. There's a poll on the Gator Country website asking when the two DJs should return to air, with (at the time we viewed the results) 78 percent of those voting "never."

I'm only 50 lbs. overweight which isn't bad for someone that's 5'3", I only enjoy pastries in the morning and at night and they're called COMMAS YOU STUPID FUCKING KID.
