Armada Ar7's, or Armada Halos.

Still looking at skis for next season, I weigh 130 pounds, and im 5'5.


The skis Im looking at most are the Armada Ar7's and Halos. Im open to suggestions but im mainly looking for armadas.

Im looking for a ski that performs well on mainly jumps and some rails, my last pair of skis was the Line Materminds, which I never had problems with. Im not sure about going from Masterminds to skis like the Ar7's or Halos, will it be a big difference? and which ski would hold up best for what I ski, (40 foot jumps to 10 foot jumps, with some boxes and rails) I ski mainly for fun (360's and 540's) and I want a ski that is reliable and lightweight.

I did not like the halos on jumps. I felt at though the rocker made it difficult to edge for them.

Just got the Ar7s and i love them super poppy and all around fun ski

Ar7 will be better for jumps because its camber, not rockered.
i had the 2012 ar7 and loved them. you can take them anywhere inside or outside the park. Halos may be a little soft for the jumps you're doing

I love love love love my halos. They're just stiff enough so that they feel poppy and snappy, and just soft enough to press and shit.

They're very light and have pretty low swing weight, but the rocker takes some getting used to.

also, they aren't symmetrical, and they should be mounted at factory rec. They feel like rockets when you're carving switch

I know this wasnt originally one of your options but the thalls are awesome. I just picked a pair up in february so im fairly new on them and i love them. They hold an edge really well carving off jumps, feel very stable, and also kill it on rails. I would definately recommend the thalls for a perfect jumps and rails ski.

Alright I think im settled on the Ar7's but do you guys think it would be weird going from a soft ski (masterminds) to stiff skis (Ar7s)? how much will I notice the difference, btw my old skis are pretty small, there 147s and Im jumpiing to 161s.

You'll notice a big difference, but unless you do tons of butters and presses they will help you being stiffer. Still, you can butter the hell out of them if you try.
