Do you guys often contemplate quitting filming? I dunno over the past few weeks Ive been trying to film something for my film festival and every project fell through and its really bumming me out. I wanted to film things relating to skiing and none of my friends were willing to put in the time to help me/lack of patience at all the features we hit etc. But Im wondering how often do things just go terribly for you on the film side of things. Over my brief time of filming Ive obviously learned that nothing ever ever goes how you plan it and shitty things always happen, but my success rate is so fucking low its just straight up depressing. (I'm talking more urban filming wise here)
Every time Im about to go out to hit something Im so fucking stoked and pumped to get a trick on the feature and get some dope shots, but about 60-70% of the time we/I end up building the feature terribly, no one ever wants to help me film anything but a goddamn fish angle etc. And every time I tried to film my short film people were out of town and shipping was delayed on my props etc. Now i know that is due to my shitty planning and urban wise Im sure I just need to hit more features but GAHD DAMN I fuckin fail hard as a mother fucker.
Now my purpose for making this thread was to see if when you guys were first getting going in filming things did you guys fail as hard as me? What were some of your biggest problems? When you deal with shit like this why do you keep filming? To me personally i feel like filming is a trap, (or at least when it doesn't go well) I always listen to music and when its a dope song I always envision the projects I would make to it, the tricks I would do and how I would film it, or the short film I would make to it. All the little details and aspects run through my head and I get an incredible surge of stoke in my body and I get so fucking jazzed up to go make some awesome film.
But then I usually fail and get frustrated
