Everytime I've taken my grips off to cut poles, I dip them in boiling water to get it off.
After cutting I use a hairdryer to re-heat the glue inside the grip and then slide them back on. I've never had a pair of grips fall off after doing this.

not boiling just get it really hot or warm and let them sit there for like a minute depending on how hot the water is then they should just slide right off.

if theyre still stubborn you can put them in a door and pull pole until the handle comes off.

I fell down and my friend took the opposite end of my pole that I was holding to pull me back up, and the grip came off. So literally get two people and have the greatest and most epic, manly tug of war contest you've ever had and you should be golden.
