It's not North Korea which concerns me.. If we needed to we could turn that entire country into a crater in a matter of days. Their alliance with China is beginning to dwindle, but I think that they are the ones we should be worrying about, because they actually have the capability to take us on should there ever be a real war
As for China, IF we ever had to concern ourselves with them it would be all to easy to eliminate the majority of their forces overnight without a single US casualty.
I bet it would be incredibly easy to get a whole bunch of American troops into North Korea, kill Kim Jong-Un and begin the slow process of freeing the minds of the North Korean people. we'd look like dicks, but come on... it's time that something be done about this.
You're underestimating the level of brainwashing their culture has endured.. Yeah it would be fairly easy to topple the regime, but I would bet on the citizens of NK not realizing we are doing them a huge favor and being very very against US intervention. Could probably be done, but it would get ugly and be a huge waste of US time and money IMO.
Calm your nerves e-thug. To think the US isn't capable of defending itself from the DPRK with ease is foolish. You tell me I'm talking out of my ass and then provide no reason or proof as to why I am wrong.
Sure some people underestimate the potential of other countries, but it's pretty difficult to mistake the amount of power the US has over any other country in terms of warfare capabilities.
facts. The US is not going to war with China any time soon, but the insinuation that the US could destroy the majority of an active force 2 million strong in one of the largest and most geographically diverse countries in the world without suffering casualties is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard on this website. It's just ridiculous, even if the only method used was just bombing the shit out of everything.
North Korea is another matter. Despite their outdated equipment, they have over a million active duty military members, with a fuckton (1 fuckton= 8 million people) of reservists that would certainly be called up in the event of a major war. They have the advantage of entrenched positions, including but not limited to (fairly outdated) artillery, and fighting in their own country. While it is difficult to know for sure how loyal the average infantryman is to the state, there would likely be fanatical fighting from the North Koreans just because of the propaganda that has been spewed at them about the US and South Korea.
No one thinks that the DPRK would come out on top in the end, but such a conflict would be horrifically costly for both sides.
I agree the idea of America being directly attacked by NK is ridiculous, but that's not what this thread is about. It's about the Korean Peninsula, where (from my interpretation) you were saying that the US could easily mop the floor with North Korea, which I believe to be blatantly false.
Why the fuck would we ever go to war with China? You fools need to learn what a global economy is and what a war between US/China would do...no way either one takes up arms against the other unless it's an extremely dire situation. You don't bite the hand that feeds
NK and China are hardly allies. Same for Russia. Neither Russia nor China would defend NK in a war with SK and the US. Keep in mind, both Russia and China are permanent members of the UN Security Council. Both have complete veto power over any proposed UN actions, including the most recent sanctions against NK. NK really has no military allies like the US does. They will not stand a chance against the US in a war.
dudebro.. North Korea is jokes. They have trouble feeding their citizens already. How the hell are they going to feed an army much less fuel all their half ass gear. Lets say they launch a nuke.. protocol retaliation is equal or greater force. Their capital would be a glass parking lot in a matter of minutes.
China is a developing threat for sure but gear wise.. they're a joke too. Cool they can hack shit all day. Unless they can hack fleets of warships and jets they'd have another thing coming to start shit with the US. They have a large fighting force for sure and the manufacturing and natural resource base to back it up but all their gear is bootleg as fuck. Have you seen their reverse engineered F-22? lols. They just launched their first aircraft carrier last year and landed their first jet on a carrier less than 6 months ago. Last I heard it still wont be functional for a few years yet.
When it all comes down to it. We have the best guns and a defense dept. black budget dedicated to pumping out shit we haven't even dreamed up yet. Not saying I agree with our American empire but damn.. it feels good to have a military as strong as ours.
north korea is going to get fucked so ridiculously hard if they try to pull any shit. not exactly a strategic threatening move to attack when the whole world short of China (who are slowly realizing how fucking dumb the N koreans are) hates them.
I never said that we didn't have the most advanced, probably best military in the entire world. The point I was getting at is that despite our strength, we can't just trot around the world thinking that we'll just cockslap any country that looks at us weird. That sort of attitude can get us into more quagmires and help lose a lot of american lives.
No kidding. As I said.. "Not saying I agree with our American empire..."
Our foreign policy is atrocious. We've basically been at war the entire 20th and 21st century so far. When someone is sitting on something we want we go, take it, and put in a friendly regime. Look at Libiya & Gaddafi. He talked about not trading oil in dollars.. and now he's in the ground. Look at Irag and Saddam.. talked about not trading oil in the dollar.. and now he's in the ground too. Look at Iran...they have and entirely internal, government owned central bank that we have zero control over.. You know what that means, right? They hate freedom and have WMD's! (/s)
Two things are certain though. All empires eventually fall and infinite growth/expansion is impossible. The downfall of US dominance is just a matter of time so the way I see it... for now I'll take comfort in and embrace the fact that we have high tech shit to defend with. The money's already been spent and as an average citizen there's nothing I can do to decide how money is spent on defense anyway so at this point.. fuck it. I'm here for the ride.
This sums it all up I'd say. The technology we have allows us to ruin enemy forces with such overwhelming power that as much as I'm embarrassed by Americans to be American at times, I would be scared to be anything but a friend to the US.
Haha, come on now, that's the whole reason why this mess is even unfolding. And the middle east has been such an astounding success as well. Let's be real, if it didn't work the first time there is no way in hell its going to work this time around. Korea is onto our shit
Because you're using anecdotal evidence, here's some about China.
But your video brings up an interesting point. That point being that despite America's (I literally am struggling to make up a word that gets the point across without overusing the word "fuckingcuntload") military superiority over the Taliban, in almost fifteen years we have still to achieve their destruction, despite insane amounts of Afghanis killed, civvie or otherwise, and a lot of good American soldiers, marines and airmen as well. The US military is by no means invincible.
Remember that "StarWars" ICBM interceptor program back in the 80's that was supposedly shut down? It's long been rumored that it was not shut down and was indeed successful. Along with several other satellite based weapons platforms. Google: "Rods from god".
This depiction of the US knocking shit out of the sky is entirely possible.
