Headphone recommendations for filming?

Hey guys so I have a really nice set of headphones for editing but would rather not use them in the field and potentially ruin them.  I'm looking for a set of headphones for monitoring my audio in the field.  What would you recommend?  Somewhere middle of the road as far as quality is what I'd be looking for.  Also durability of the cable would need to be pretty solid.

How serious are you needing it to be? are you just using them to monitor volume and whether it's blowing out(not sure what the audio term is), if so you could just get a cheap set of amazon(warranty will cover the wire breaking, I've sent my current pair of $10 headphones back 13 times)

Is there a way to plug in headphones to canon DSLRs? I normally just like do it blind, but it'd be sick to be able to actually hear what i'm filming.

Mainly just to monitor audio levels.  I need over the ear so that I'm not hearing the actual subject with my own ears when recording up close.  Working with a external recorder and wireless mic.

Not cheaply? How much would it cost? I couldn't even find a plug for headphones, unless the mic input would somehow work as an audio output, right?
