Best bindings for Il moro

Hello, I'm looking for bindings to my new Armada Magic J. I'm choosing between FKS 18 and STH 16. Which of them is better suits to my Il Moro Rasta Icon boot? Cause Jesters on my last skis had a small backlash.
My weight is 190-195 lbs. Thx for answers!

FKS will be a bit much binding, if you know what I mean. Plus if the brakes break on them they are a pain in the ass to replace, so if you dont need the fks, then the sth's will be a great choice. The sths would be a very good choice.

I would also put a vote in for the STH's as well. The FKS 18's will probably be a hair overkill, the brakes are a nightmare to replace let alone buy, and if your using Magic J's, then I've heard from many people that FKS can be a pain to click into in deep snow (probably not the end of the world though)
STH's are bomber, my 12's have held up great and release great, the vertical toe release has saved my legs a few times (don't think the FKS has that...?) breaks are easy to come buy and replace, and there's loads of adjustment on the binding to get a to the T fit to your Il Moros.
Either way you go though, both bindings are pretty great.

Only the oversize/z toe salomon bindings have vertical release in the toe. Driver toe bindings like the sth 16 and 916 don't have vertical release in the toe.

fks 180/185s can be a pita to step into in pow, and steep slopes. That said, I wouldn't trade them for anything. They have never released when I didn't want them too, and they are bomb proof. Never broken a brake either. Some of the older models with geze toes even have vertical toe release which is nice.

In my opinion, there is no comparison between bindings. The FKS/Pivot design is by far the best on the market. The only downfall is the brakes being more difficult to replace. But I would rather take 30 minutes to replace some brakes than take six months to recover from a blown knee.
Riding at the lower end of the din range is not an issue at all. Get FKS 180's, you will not be disappointed.

eh, not neccessarily true because the binding that goes head to head with it is in fact the STH 16... so it really is what you personally want out of the binding, it does not matter which you choose as far a performance. the FKS are definitely harder from experience to click into with even a minimal amounts of snow, but elastic travel is very very nice and you are very safe in the binding, even beating out the STH 16 because the heel piece saves you (dont feel like going into detail). the STH binding is the best by far binding for perfect fit and safest toe release system. that toe is the best development in bindings I have ever seen (beats out the FKS heelpiece by only a little) and they are easier to put on in powder and you feel very secure when you click into them. there are other things, but if you are really interested, PM me

FKS. Best retention while still releasing when you need them too, all the while transferring the energy away from your knee with the rotating heel

The best development in bindings is the FKS single piece metal housing.
