Theres one opening up near me and my dad knows the will be manager. Pay is about $9/hour full time. Starting on the 8th.
I'm wondering if anyone else has worked at one, I'm waiting to hear back from another job I'd way rather work at but theres no guarantee I'll get it, and need a some work again.
Part of it is I could give less of a fuck about cell phones.

Be prepared for crazy black women who have no idea what their account name/number are who want an upgrade even though they've had their new iPhone for only 3 months. I swear to god, every time I go to a Verizon store, this is what I have to wait in line behind. Every. Damn. Time.

How old are you OP? $9 ain't great but if you are at the mall you can probably chat up a bunch of chicks. I picked up a girl at a T-Mobile stand once. Hung out later that night, she made me watch The Notebook and ended with some of the best sex of my life never to hear from her again. Kind of odd really.

its a fun job, training is a joke though
I had to go to Cuse form albany for a month for "training" wich was pretty much learning about the cells, its easy, laid back, and if its a hot spot you will meet lots of ladies

Thanks, just stopped by the place and am filling out an application online right now.
Unfortunately its a stand alone building and not in a mall so the only people coming in are actually going to be doing phone stuff.
Not sure how I feel about working a job solely for the paycheck, I couldn't give less of a fuck about phones but I'm not getting a call back from the day camp or park maintenance (ie. getting stoned on break with my friends at the beach and then riding a lawn mower all day, at said beach and park)
I'm going down to a new outfitting shop that opened up last summer. I doubt they need it but I'm hoping they have a position they need to fill for the summer.
The phone store seems like a good gig though.

If it's an actual corporate Verizon location and not a dealer location, you can make some pretty good money (commissions) with Verizon. I have a buddy who makes about 60k a year selling phones. One of my good friends is a store manager at a Verizon location and pulls in about $80k. There's still some damn good money to be made in phones. Not quite like it was during the early 2000's boom, but still good money none-the-less.
All times are Eastern (-5)
