Winter Park

Nobody has any opinions on Winter Park? Okay.

Never been there but I mean it can't be that bad... Boulder's fun

Winter park is good because it is pretty big and are a lot of options. Less tourists than mountains like Vail or Breck. Bunch of park although you need a pass for the big one (dark territory) which you can get by paying like $20 and watching a safety video. If park isn't you thing you can there are some sweet blacks/off piste runs. If you really want some nice steeps and off piste stuff head over to Mary Jane which is on the same mountain. Overall great mountain.

I've always found that curious, why isn't there a big NS winterpark contingent? park wise, and terrain wise, it seem awesome, and "in the shadow" of vail. Is it remote?

Winter Park is a lot of fun. You rarely see a long lift line like you would at the big resorts in Summit county. However, the cat tracks and green trails toward the base are really flat, so be prepared to pole around a lot if you plan on skiing those kind of runs on fresh snow. The super gauge express and panoramic lifts both have a lot of fun, steeper terrain to ski.

It's kind of harder to get to and not as mainstream as Breck and Keystone. Not gonna lie, it got pretty sketchy when I was driving on hwy 40 on the way home when it was dark and nuking, especially when I turned my lights off, haha.

They had a lot to offer in terms of park, but the big park requires a $20 pass. The jumps looked huge and perfect from what I saw on my trip last month.

It's a fun little resort, and it can be made quite affordable if you find lift ticket coupons and discounts.

this. WP is dope it's closer to Boulder than vail or breck, you go over Berthoud pass which in itself is dope. The mountain is fun groomers are great the park is sick, there's even a horse to tap on! For bumps head over to Mary Jane super fun when the suns shining.. have fun man

Winter Park is sick. They have some good parks, trees and bumps on the Mary Jane Side, and If you hike up to the vasquez cirque there is a ton of pow and steeps. WP has a little of everything.

not on the epic pass, parks are arguably subpar compared to most vail resorts, location is out of the way... makes for a much less crowded mountain though. as far as "real skiing" goes, mary jane is the fucking tits. and i don't even like bumps... there's so much shit you can find if you explore for a little while. as mentioned before, cirque is awesome, the chutes too but those aren't always open. as far as park... dark territory requires a pass, which requires money and watching a video, not always worth it if you're just visiting... their park is hit or miss but this year there are some pretty fun rails outside of DT, don't expect to find any real jumps though, everything jumpwise is pretty fucked if you aren't in DT.

overall the vail resorts are better... especially keystone for park and vail for "real" skiing

well we all know that you suck at skiing. GO TO MARY JANE, best skiing in the front range for cliff drops and tree skiing. If your a little girl like illbread and cant ski moguls then you prob just wanna stay in the trees since all the runs are moguls. As far as the park goes the rails are fun but winter park has never figured out how to build there jumps, they have the flatest lips and landings making it hard to do tricks on them. thats the number one reason why i move out of Grand county over to summit county. have fun and just go explore.

Haven't been there in a few years but I had a blast. It snowed 18 inches our first night and 8 the second, it was the first real pow day this little Minnesota boy got. I'd never been west before, but I liked it.

Winter park is rather tame , smooth mountain . If this is your thing, you'll find done great cruising on the WP side, along with some good advanced terrain along the zephyr lift zone ... Hughes, balch, mulligans mile, offer up some good moderate bumps and spring corn if timed right. If u want the best it had to offer and you can bomb out serious blacks , bumps and trees, spend every moment on have Mary Jane side, this Is where it's at !!! MJ has a great local following of people who ski bumps, and ski them well! This creates terrific bump formation , progression and attack of huge fall line . Challenger zone is one of the top bump zones in the country! If you like your bumps with a side of trees and a ton of steeps, venture through the tree zones off runaway, cannonball , long short haul, you just may come across a smoke shack too! Patrol does a great job at opening the chutes in this zone too... And when there open, it's a good day to be st the Jane! If your fortunate enought to get a good dump of at least 15" plus, buddy up with a local who may introduce you to a special little secret called the mushroom patch! ITs not on the map, you can't read about it anywhere! It's filled with memories that will last all summer long!!!!

Winter Park / Jane are my home mountains.

They're a little gem that can be awesome but when the snow sucks, it's kind of awful haha

WP has stepped up in the park game since when I was a little gaper and MJ is the shit. Come check out Utah if you want the best mountains in a close proximity mon
