Woo, finalized set. Took some deal hunting, but I actually didn't really end up spending almost anything besides shipping fees/club work. Sold a lot of old golf gear, yada yada.

Everything else is the same, the redone woods are insane. Super tight dispersion, and absolutely nuke the ball. Your swings gotta be booking it in order to elevate them more than 10 feet off the ground, but if you can, man are they awesome.

Yessir mainly, for quite good deals. Had to watch for em, but I was pretty psyched. I picked up the hybrid and driver head separately, and the 3deep I ordered from my local shop. The Kiyo Black I snagged for 159 uncut, so brand new, the HD8 I picked up for 91, and the HM3 105 I got for 101. Took quite a bit of watching to come across those deals, but I was pretty satisfied in the end. And they fit my swing PERFECTLY. Super stable and consistent, while adding a crap load of distance.

thats absurd. oban i thought had a policy where all their shafts have to be installed if they are bought i.e. they cant be bought uncut. good for you picking those up though. they are all sick clubs

I play at colorado golf club and my setup is Driver- R11 3 wood- Taylormade burner 4 Hybrid- taylormade Burner Irons- Cunstom fit Nike VRS combo superlite shafts and my coach put my initials in them for ten bucks Wedges- titleist vokey SM4 (60 and 54) Putter- Scotty Cameron Newport 2.0 Anyone have opinions on the tour wrap grip or the multi-compound? Big fan of both and i have both of them, just interested to hear what you all have to say.

i have them on all my irons and only switch them out every year. they feel a lot better than the tour wraps even if they don't last as long. the tour wraps just feel disgusting to me. i could never put them on any of my clubs

i play in a few tournament and play for my highschool, i kinda suck but I have burner 2.0 driver and a 3 wood. Taylormade rescue hybrid. Burner irons. An odyssey putter and some cleveland wedges. I love the setup just wish I could hit my woods.

Dude thats some solid playing right there!! I'd love to go play Hazeltine National or Pebble Beach on a vacation here sometime.

I play usually 1 to 2 rounds every day, but average right now I'm shooting about 2 over for 18. Had several rounds under so far, 3 under being the best, but then a few rounds over, so whatever haha. So I'm pretty happy for that at the start of the season. Just started my workout routine again after a month and a half of being pretty limited with college. Bit more golfing oriented, major back muscles, shoulders, core and legs. Hoping to increase the swing speed just a tad more and make it a bit easier to generate, and also build some stability in the swing. Also, ALMOST finished setting up the bag this year. Taking god damn ages. But my distance has increased quite a bit, as well as consistency. Also, my trajectory has improved 10 fold, from crazy high with medium high spin that would balloon into any form of headwind and get no rollout to medium-high with stupid low spin that pierces through wind and rolls forever.

*almost finished setup* - Yeah I know its the third time I've posted this, but shit keeps changing and now I just have one thing I want to replace because its getting worn out.

Razr Fit Xtreme 8.5* - Oban Kiyoshi Black 65-05(Extra stiff) tipped .5"(makes it stiffer/more tight) with the tour authentic double cog adapter for additional adjustability. Plays at 44.75" and I added 7g to the head to get the swing weight right.

Callaway Xhot 3deep 14.5* - Matrix HD8 Black Tie X-Flex - 42.75" at D4 Swing Weight

Mizuno Mp-650 17* Hybrid - Matrix HM3 Black Tie 105X - 41.5" at D5 sw

Mizuno MP-R12 60* Wedge - These are getting extremely worn out, I am most likely going to switch to Callaway MackDaddy 2 wedges that will be released in July, then shaft those up with Tour Issue Dynamic Gold X100s.

Putter - Center Shafted Taylormade Itsy Bitsy Spider Black - Japan release - Superstroke Slim Grip

*Going to probably buy a Versa #7 BWB later, and keep both. I love the IB, but the Versa series has one of the best alignment systems I've ever seen, it's just stupid easy to use. And they switched back to the original white hot insert which is BY FAR the best insert they have ever made. And, its cheap.

Yeah, that setup may look like it would be stupid expensive, which if everything was bought retail, it would be. But I sell and flip a lot of golf merchandise, and buy almost EVERYTHING used, and wait until I can find it quite cheap. So overall, this setup has cost me less than it would cost somebody to go out and just buy a new set at a golf shop or sports store. And, it's completely customized to match my game. Takes time, but I'm a Club Ho, so what can I do.

not saying you fit this category, or fall into it but/......

every golfer ive met thats paid that much attention to the shafts and specs of every club in their bag, has no game at all. seriously all the members at my club that try to come up and talk euipment with me have talked such a big game then i go play with em and the nigs cant break 80 to save their lives.

theres always something they need to tinker with that they blame it on, never their shitty swing. maybe its cause ive always just played s300s and 90% of the stock stiff shafts that come in my woods work for me, but ive never understood what sitting and looking thru hundreds of shaft options does to help your game. unless youre fitting clubs professionally, and i dont mean adjusting someones r1 at dicks sportinggoods, real club fitting, youre better off studying swings for hours than equipment..

Partially, its just because I enjoy tinkering. Trust me. I have had plenty of work on the swing. I took lessons for the last 3 years every week at the TPC course that was closest to me, then switched around instructors for a year and a half before that before I finally found the guy at TPC that works for me. I don't study other peoples swings because you'd be idiotic to. I don't care what Tiger's swing looks like, because it isn't the swing that will work for me. Granted, I look at others swings to see certain angles at specific points in the swing. Getting the combination of observation based learning along with an instructor that can help me feel those proper angles in my swing is quite helpful.

Anywho, do I need all that custom crap? No. I can still play well without it. It may take an adjustment phase to where I can time all the shit right, but I can still play well. But I enjoy jacking around with golf equipment, so why not do it right? If it makes the game easier, why not. Do I ever think about golf as a career? Abso-fucking-lutely not. It's a hobby. I'm decent at it. But I know thats it, I can go to any random club and some people will shoot better than me, but I'll also shoot better than a lot of people. It's just fun, and something I'm moderately good at. Can I tell the difference between *slight* differences in clubs? Yes. Replace the 8g weight in the toe of my driver with the 6g I have in my weight kit, I will notice. So, I'm peculiar about what I have.

The reason I like to go into shafts like that is I can swing how I want, and don't have to worry about losing the shaft in my swing. I generate a lot of speed, and stock stiffs don't handle that well. The change in iron shafts was actually because I just snapped a 7i under the grip when I was tee'ing off with it. Not sure how, probably just overuse or whatever. I wanted a different iron shaft profile, but wasn't gonna mess with it because I didn't care that much. But when it broke, why not right?

Yeah I've been golfin since I was 10, but I'm not an avid golfer, only go a few time a summer. I'm done with college now so hopefully that'll change. I forget what clubs, i think i have Ping irons, and an older driver. Yeah, Golf Fore the Win!

If you're looking for this years models, the XHOT series by Callaway is absolutely phenomenal. Also, the MP-650 woods/hybrids by Mizuno are just crazy good, and they can be had for really cheap if you look around on eBay.

I don't understand why people talk about what clubs they have. I buy new clubs once every 5 to 10 years. There's no way in hell I'm going to keep up with what the hot new clubs are in the meantime.

Like I said, I do because I think its fun. I don't talk about it with anybody at my club really, because nobody really gives a crap. I use different headcovers that are always the same, so nobody can really see when I switch clubs unless it's somebody that plays a lot with me and knows the exact clubs that I use.

caddying this saturday for the first time since last year, honestly the easiest job ever. free balls and tees, tips anywhere from $40 to $100 per round and you learn a ton from some of the good golfers. and free rounds at the 9 hole owned by the course. and discounts to play at the nice course. so lucky to get the job again haha

Been golfing a ton. Averaging around 92-94 want to get < 90 consistently. Shot a 44 the other day so that's a decent start. Having the worst time with my driving. Unless the hole is over like 430 I'm hitting my 17* hybrid off the tee. My drives can hit the fairway prob 50% but they go fucking 225-230 and I hit my 17* 220. I think I may need a new driver with a stiff shaft and/or need some more practice. Hitting my irons farther than I ever have tho 9 goes 130-140 hit my 6 like 175 today and my 8 iron about 155 so I'm stoked on that. Need to get those distances more dialed cause they keep getting a little longer.

I usually play at my local course in Purcell OK. I average around 75. I play TaylorMade r9s with vokey wedges, an r11 fairway wood, Cleveland Launcher Driver (09) and a TaylorMade recovery. Just played in a 2-day 2-man scramble last weekend but didn't win anything. Maybe this is why.
