Can Gus Kenworthy do the most of any other skier?

there are only 7 tricks that gus kenworthy can't do. (out of all the tricks that have been landed by anyone in the world)
nosebutter dub cork 10/12 and nose butter triple cork 16. Also i haven't seen him do a zero spin, quad backflip(if that video wasn't a fake), and dub cork 7/9
HE CAN ACTUALLY DO EVERY OTHER TRICK
someone prove me wrong. If someone proves me wrong we could ask to do the tricks.

I thought the "Gus has no style" arguments ended 3 years ago, apparently not. I can't understand how you would rather watch totally trevor than gus, who likely can do everything that trevor can with better style than trevor.

On another note, how has nobody ever pointed out that henrik harlaut is unable to come up with his own style. he's a great skier, but in my opinion he has jacked his style from first wallisch and then casabon. i think its funny when kids hate on comp skiing and love henrik yet can just block out the things like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtdLr7msAVk

1. I'd actually like to see some examples of how Henrik has been "jacking" styles. In my opinion he's been pretty consistent over the years. The time they were the most similar was in the "Feel Ghood" days, but then again, the style looks more like what Henrik is doing now rather than what Tom is.. If anything, I kinda feel Tom kinda got away from that type of chill/relaxed style. But you do have a point that he has been influenced by Phil, it's pretty obvious but not necessarily a bad thing in my opinion.

2. You never see people ragging on Henrik for doing future spins because if you look at any of the B&E or inspired edits from the past few years, the only thing you see him doing is steezy presses and tweaked out singles.. (maybe a double or two?). I think Henrik realizes that triples and big rotations belong in competition and therefore leaves them out of his edits in order to emphasize his huge bag of tricks and style.

And something that actually relates to the thread.. Gus Kenworthy is the fucking man, no matter where he's skiing.

He can't do a trick that I'd want to watch. I'm not saying he doesn't have style, but I don't find his skiing to have any flavour to it. It's just smoothly executed stock tricks, yawn.

Trevor has a way more loose, non robotic style and does tricks that are more interesting to watch than just spin on, switch ups, spin off.

Er...justifiying something with facts is a pretty effective way of doing it. Anyway whether you like watching him or not isn't the point. Someone said he lacked variety, I replied by saying that was obviously not true if you looked at the almost unparalleled bag of different tricks he has. If you think all Gus does is spin a lot on rails then you've had your head up your arse.

Wow, you're really stupid. Gus is one of my favourite skiers but I just don't agree with you. First, Trevor has a completely different (but sick) style as Gus.


To the Henrik part. You must be mentally paralyzed. Tom, Phil and Henrik have a completely different style. Henrik was always doing his thing. I honestly can't understand you. Do you seriously watch Henrik ski and think: "Wow, Henrik definitely copied his style from Wallisch!".


I don't understand the Gus hate though.

Watch the edit posted on the first page. His first 5-6 rail tricks are combinations of two switch ups and then 270s off followed by combinations of 6s and 4s. You can't argue that he doesnt spin a lot on rails.

At no point have I argued that he doesn't spin a lot on rails. Basic reading comprehension and any sort of logical thought seems a bit of a stretch for you eh. Shame.

All I said is that is spinning on rails is not all he does - he has a lot of variety and does a lot of other stuff too. Do you disagree with that? Are you seriously arguing that the only thing he ever does is spin a lot on rails?

Do I seriously have to point to the exact times in different edits where he does lots of different tricks before you finally get the fucking point?

Almost every rail trick gus does is a combination of spins on, spins off, and switch ups. He shows very little variety in rail skiing.

Ah, the losing argument's tried and tested method of changing the goal posts.

Going back to my original point - if Gus can beat B Dog in a game of skate whilst also having one of the biggest bags of slopestyle/big air tricks how does he lack variety? Just because he spins on and off of rails a lot in edits does not mean he lacks variety if he has proven, on camera, that he can do that and much more. Furthermore if you consider that the majority of skiing rail tricks involve some sort of spinning on and spinning off then one really has to wonder what the fuck you are on about.

Watch the Vars match up, Gus matches B Dog with nollies onto rails, one footed back slides and lip tail slides.

Ok, you don't like Gus's style, that's fine. Disagreeing with someone who says Gus has a wide variety of tricks under his belt is insanity though. How many skiers in the world have the variety and skills to beat B Dog in Skate and compete at the highest level in slopestyle?

Looks like the only tricks we have come up with are bio 14/16 and dub bio( i mean i have only seen Vincent Gagnier do dub bio).

im pretty sure that he done some wizard tricks. but ill put that on the list

ALSO WHO ever said that Gus Kenworthy is undoubtably smoother than tom wallisch at rails. your just wrong.

LOL not roller skater tricks....

Only one that is a skating trick is a bindsoul.

The other tricks are ski only tricks. Unlike 95% of ski tricks these aren't from snowboarding, aerials, or rollerblading.

yes I'm sure he can't do a nosebutt dub 10/12 , he's got them 4ways , I'm sure he could do it with a nosebutter.

zero spins is not a hard trick at all at the level of skiing he's at

quadbackflip was on water...

If he can do a dubcork 10 as a cork 3 to cork 7 , I'm pretty sure he could do a dub 7.
