Why did phil casabon get kicked off the canadian team, he is a good competition skier and one of the best canadian skiers. i read the article on him and he was stoked to be on the team

phil is not really a comp skier, im surprised he kept doing comps for this long, im glad he can focus on doing cool tricks and not hucking his meat

his dub in freestyle.ch this season was super sick and got him 3rd place if i recall correctly. i really would like to see some of his badass stuff during some of those stupid FIS competitions and maybe the Olympics. Too bad hes not on the team and wont be in any of these comps. I respect him for that though.

how is this even a question, tell me how Phil has done in slopestyle comps this year? The comp scene is viscious where you're only as good as your last x-games result and unfortunately for phil he wasn't even in the x-games this year. I think mostly he's moving away from comps and focusing more on filming which suite his style better anyways in my opinion

might also have something to do with almost the entire canadian team being french.
but mostly cause he's not driven to compete, that's why he doesn't do well. the team representing canada in the olympics wants driven skiers who push to win. a lot of money goes into that shit, they want medals, and bdog doesn't give a shit anyways. he's probably happier rolling around filming and stuff.

Phil is a terrible comp athelete and missed a ton of comps last year to film, so they decided they would get someone who actually trys.


Also, to the above post I think those are just the pipe guys. And I think ABM and Bellmare are going for slope.

yup they fucking kill it. riddle had the best comp season ever and marg and dorey had top 5 finishes in almost all of the comps they competed in. Would not be surprised if one of these guys podiums at the olympics.

First thing that came to my mind...

Anyways, I don't have mad confidence in our slopestyle team except for the ladies. Hopefully they prove me wrong though. Stoked on Mike Riddle though, he shreds hard. Would love to see him do well.

I think you have to want to compete and do some training with the team. You also have to have some comp results. It is harsh to say Ian and Phil were "kicked off". They didn't really want to follow that program. The CDN slope team (A and B) this year was: Kaya, Dara, Yuki, Kim, JF Houle, Alexi Godbout, Alex Bellmare, Alex Beaulieu-Marchand, Charles Gagnier, Vince Gagnier, TJ, Noah Morrison, Jamieson Irvine. My guess is that it will change up again for next year.
