Your question has no point. What do I have to gain by not allowing a certain social class to subjugate and control a certain group of peope they seek to label as second class citizens? Because what's next if we allow that? It's a slippery slope to start saying who can and who can't be viewed as a full and equal citizen. It's based strictly on religious pretense, so would we also then surmise that other moral and religiously-denounced behaviors be subject to legal scrutiny? Would adultery again be punishable by law? How about divorce- would it be illegal again? Where do you stop once you've decided that one religion's laws define that of an entire nation's? The answer is you don't. You can't. I guarantee this will pass, as it should. There can be no rational thought other than hate that could decide this should be the case.
I think you are missing the massive, rediculously easily-grasped point that is being lobbed in to you at atrociously slow speeds simply because you don't want to. The truth is we all have something to gain by not oppressing that which is not "us", and your insistance that as long as it isn't standing in your living room it doesn't matter is as narrow minded as it is ignorant. You want to rob gays of the most basic right afforded to straight couples simply because you aren't gay? That's just sad and I personally feel bad for you that you'd settle for this as a moral standard.
