So, I'm leaving Colorado and will be up in Teton Valley area in Idaho visiting friends for a little bit but will be relocating to Washington. This move will probably be rather permanent. So...
I figured I'd ask NS about Seattle and Bellingham as places to live, what to expect for prices, good neighborhoods/areas to live in, work opportunities, and any other tips and hints. If you guys/girls know of any other towns/cities out there that are pretty cool let me know.
I'll probably be headed up there around mid to late April to check the area out, so if any of you out there wouldn't mind hosting me for a few nights that'd be really great.
I'm 25, I can cook, I'll do your dishes, walk your dog, bake you bread, and be really nice house guest.

I'm moving to Seattle from NY the day after tomorrow!!!
In my search for a decent apartment/house/roommate (which took me a month and a flight to Seattle to complete) I've found that housing is relatively expensive. I currently live in downtown Buffalo, NY, and you can rent a decent 1500-2000sq/ft house in a decent area for about $1500/month. The same size/quality/location place in Seattle is closer to $2000/mo.
As far as nice areas to live in, everyone I talked to said that Queen Anne, Fremont, Ballard, Phinney, and Greenlake are pretty great. After spending a few days in those areas, I totally agree. I found a house with a pretty awesome roommate in the U-district, which seems like a pretty nice area too.

If you talkin permanent living, go for Seattle. Bham is cool, but a small town, and living in Seattle is the shit. Some really good neighborhoods are Capitol Hill, the U-District, Fremont, Columbia City, etc Ballard. MY favorite is the CD (my neighborhood) even though it gets ghetto sometimes. It's near tons of busses, centrally located in the city, and basically your 20 minutes away from any deep corner of the city. Snoqualmie is 30 minutes away, Stevens and Crystal are an hour and a half, and you can always find rides with people. Bham is 30 minutes from Baker, but you don't have the variety. Living in Seattle, you never get bored, there is always things to do, and the vibe of the city is really nice. Its expensive, but definitely worth it. PM for more info if you want.
