The other day while practicing my nolies, which I am still awful at, I was envisioning how sick it would look to do a switch nolie onto a rail. I did some digging around and couldn't find a vid of anyone doing it, though I'm sure there is.

So here is my proposition: I will send $3 via paypal to the first person who posts a vid of them doing a switch nolie on.

In order to authenticate that this is you doing the trick and not an old vid, yell "ready, steady, SPAGHETTI!" in the same clip before doing the switch nolie onto a rail/box.

those really are just a very accentuated switch lips. Switch nollie = switch nose pop

Alright, so I guess I am confused in my definitions of nolie. In skiing I consider a nolie when you pop off your nose, even if you are going switch.

Nicks vid was what I think snowboarders consider as a switch nolie. I hope that makes sense.

The first original video of popping off your nose, while switch, onto a rail gets the $3. I guess some people overlooked my reply to YMhorroR when I made that clear.

this is where it gets real interesting^ when skiing switch, a nollie would still be off the forward pointing tip of the ski, therefore the tails.

By that logic a switch backflip would be what most people consider a sw front flip. A switch nollie is still popping off the nose, even if going switch.

A switch nollie is no going switch on, a switch lip, or any of that. A nollie is when you Pop from your tips. So switch noli would be popping from you tips and doing the trick. I always ollie onto features form the side, i would like to see a switch nollie on from the side.

The problem that I have has to do with corks and bios. When throwing a cork in switch, isn't it technically a forward rotation? I could very well just be confused, but I always thought a switch cork was forward rotating, and a switch bio was backwards rotating.

might be easier if you call what nick did in the video fakie ollies. riding switch and popping off the front in skateboarding is called a fakie ollie. theres no such thing as a switch nollie. then you could call skiing switch and popping off your tails a fakie ollie and popping off your tips a switch ollie.

This is only true in skating and snowboarding.

In skiing, a nolie is popping off your tips. So if you pop off your tips while switch, its still a nolie.

If you think that a switch nolie is a fakie ollie then you should be calling switch front flips fakie back flips.

yeah I know its different when it comes to skiing. that was just my thoughts on how to most easily transfer the terms over. skating/snowboarding nollie is riding normal forward and popping off the nose, same with skiing. if you switch them all around so theyre riding the exact opposite way and then pop off the same parts of their equipment it should be a switch ollie. but it doesnt really matter a whole lot in skiing since there arent very many tricks that would require calling it a switch ollie/nollie. everyones going to see it and call it a different way. I will likely always use the skating/snowboarding method to describe it as that is what I am most familiar with.

There is no "Switch Nollie" ever. Not in skateboarding, not in snowboarding, and definitely not in skiing. Saga's response is the most legitimate way of calling tricks by their proper name.
