So I busted my bindings about 4/5 days ago, the only reason why it's taken me so long to get this thread up is because of travelling etc. I'm going to put it out there that this won't a rant/bitch about Marker Barons, to be honest I should have gone for the Duke. The only reason I went for a Baron was to save on weight, and I guess I'm paying the price for that now; regardless, they served me well.
I'm not entirely sure when it happened, my friend pointed it out to me on the tram the next more, that's why I was finding it hard to ski the day before, I just didn't notice my binding were fucked up. After looking at my bindings, I took them down to a marker dealer in the village, and he said they were broken. Essentially what's happened is the length of the binding, one side on the baron has come completely of the rails on the front and back plates, which sit directly on the ski. On top of this the front plate has also split.
I am pretty sure that if the front plant has completely split, it unusable. But what I wan't to know is, firstly if I can get hold of Duke/Baron front plate, -presumably there's not difference between a Duke and a Baron one, can I take my barons off my skis, and attempt a remount with the new plate? If the answer to my first question is yes, then I must ask this: -is there anybody here on NS with the part I require? Even if you're a US user please say, because I have a US shipping address. Or alternatively, would I be able to buy a replacement part direct from marker?
Thanks for reading all of this, and as usual helpful answers/advice will receive +K
